     Ralph Hind was born about 1821 in Arkengarthdale, Yorkshire, England.2 He was the son of William Hind.3 Ralph was listed as the head of the family on the census of 7 June 1841 in Arkengarthdale, Yorkshire, England, Ralph was a blacksmith.4 He married Margaret Bradley on 4 June 1842 in Kirby, Ravensworth, Yorkshire, England.5,6,3 Ralph was listed as head of household in the census of 30 March 1851 at Newsham, Yorkshire, England, Ralph was a blacksmith living with his wife and children, working as a blacksmith.7 Ralph was listed as the head of the family of on the census of 7 April 1861 in Black Bull, Langthwaite, Arkengarthdale, Yorkshire, England, Ralph was a blacksmith and Innkeeper living with his wife and children.8 Ralph was listed as head of household in the census of 2 April 1871 in Arkengarthdale, Yorkshire, England, Ralph was living with his five children and working as a blacksmith. His wife Margaret was visiting their son William and his family. They had a new baby who was only 4 months old. She was presumably helping out, sadly the baby Emily died later that year|Ralph was a blacksmith.9 Ralph was listed as the head of the family on the census of 3 April 1881 in Hill Top, Arkengarthdale, Yorkshire, England, Ralph was a blacksmith living with his wife son and two daughters. His apprentice John Thomas Fawcett was also staying with them.10 Ralph died in 1899 in Arkengarthdale, Yorkshire, England.11
