Thomas M Rutherfoord was born about 1908.1 He was the son of James Thomas Rutherfoord and Edith Ellett Jones.1 In the mid 1930's (Thomas used a stage name of Tom Rutherfurd and played the title role of the MGM screen play "King Henry VIII". He returned to New York shortly before WW2 he was active on the New York stage and in radio "soap operas". He was an officer in the New York United Servicemen's Organiszation and entertained military personnel. Following the war he was active in repertory and Shakesperian touring companies, worked in television. He retired to Salzburg in Austria in 1950's and came out of retirement in the summer of 1971 to play in a leading role in the revival of George Bernard Shaw's play.1 Thomas died on 6 January 1973 in Vienna Hospital, Vienna, Austria.1 Thomas was buried on 27 January 1973 in Hollywood Cemetery, 412 South Cherry Street, Richmond, Virginia, USA, Section 23 Lot 122.1
