He was baptised on 6 June 1836 in South Cowton, Yorkshire, England, Baptism of Henry appears as son of Betty of Streelam in South Cowton register also in Danby Wiske register inserted under 1837 (with same date) as son of Thomas and Elizabeth. She appears thus in all records in Danby Wiske.2,3 In the census of 6 June 1841 in Streetlam, Danby Wiske, Yorkshire, England, he was listed as the son of Thomas Greathead.4 In the census of 30 March 1851 he was listed as an apprentice to the tailor William Robinson.3,5 In the census of 7 April 1861 in Yafforth Village, Yafforth, Yorkshire, England, he was listed as the son of Elizabeth Greathead Henry was a tailor and living with his mother.6 He married Mary Thackeray in 1861 in Danby Wiske, Northallerton, Yorkshire, England.7,8 Henry was listed as head of household in the census of 2 April 1871 at East Road, Romanby, Northallerton, Yorkshire, England, Henry was a tailor and draper.9 Henry was listed as the head of the family of on the census of 3 April 1881 in Village, Romanby, Northallerton, Yorkshire, England, Henry was a tailor.10 Henry died on 16 February 1883 in Northallerton, Yorkshire, England.11,12,13 Henry was buried on 19 February 1883 in All Saints, Yafforth, Yorkshire, England.14 Henry did not leave a will.      Mary Thackeray was born about 1837 in Anderley Steeple, Yafforth, Yorkshire, England.3,4,5,1,2 She married Henry Greathead, son of Thomas Greathead and Elizabeth Johnson, in 1861 in Danby Wiske, Northallerton, Yorkshire, England.6,7 In the census of 2 April 1871 in East Road, Romanby, Northallerton, Yorkshire, England, she was listed as the wife of Henry Greathead Mary was a dressmaker.8 Henry was listed as the head of the family of on the census of 3 April 1881 in Village, Romanby, Northallerton, Yorkshire, England, Henry was a tailor.9 Mary's husband Henry died on 16 February 1883. He was an Innkeeper. In the census of 3 April 1881 in Village, Romanby, Northallerton, Yorkshire, England, he was listed as the son of Henry Greathead Henry was a scholar.9 In the census of 5 April 1891 in Romanby Village, Romanby, Northallerton, Yorkshire, England, he was listed as the son of Mary Greathead Henry was a plate layer.10 He married Ada Worsley Porritt, daughter of Jacob Porritt and Eleanor Blackstone, on 7 March 1896 after the banns were read on 9, 16 and 23 February. Ada was Henry's first wife.11,12 Henry was listed as head of household in the census of 31 March 1901 in 9 Malekoff Street, Stockton on Tees, Durham, England, Henry was a railway goods guard.13 There was an inquiry into the circumstances attending the accident that occurred on 5 January 1906 at Stockton on the North-Eastern Railway, whereby goods guard Henry Greathead was injured.14 Henry was listed as head of household in the census of 2 April 1911 in 28 Mellor Street, Stockton on Tees, Durham, England, Henry was a goods guard on NE Railway living with his wif and two of their children in their four roomed home.15 His wife Ada died on 1912 in Stockton on Tees, Durham, England.16 He married Violet May Watts, daughter of Charles Waggott, on 21 April 1919 in Wesley Chapel, Northallerton, Yorkshire, England, The marriage was by certificate, both widowed Henry age 47, Violet age 24 witnessed by Charles Waggott (father) and Anisabel Waggott (?mother.)17,6 Henry was listed as head of household in the census of 19 June 1921 in 5 Rose Cottages, Northallerton, Yorkshre, England, Henry was a good guard for NE Railway living with his wife, children and step children.18 On 29 September 1939 in the National Register Henry was listed as living at 37 Laburnum Road, Redcar, Yorkshire, England, with his wife Violet. And two of their children Eva and Victor. Henry was a retired railway guard.8 Henry died in 1946 in Durham, England.19 Henry was buried on 4 December 1946 in Redcar Cemetery, Redcar, Yorkshire, England, his home address was 50 Laburnum Road and he was buried in row F 49-15 in the Non Conformist area.20

     Edward Nevison was born in 1849 in Auckland, Durham, England.1,2 He was the son of Edward Nevison.3 In the census of 30 March 1861 in Furniture Shop, Old Shildon, Durham, England, he was listed as the son of Edward Nevison.4 He married Mary Jane Place in 1870 in Auckland, Durham, England.5 Edward was listed as the head of the family on the census of 3 April 1881 in 5 Edward Street, Bishop Auckland, Durham, England, Edward was a colliery joiner lving with his wife and three children. Little Edward William was only seven months old. The family had two boarders.6 His wife Mary died on 1882 in Auckland, Durham, England.7 He married Margaret Greathead, daughter of John Greathead and Jane Day, on 16 May 1887 in Register Office, Auckland, Durham, England, after a certificate was issued. The ceremony was witnessed by William Nevison and William Bleakston Dean. Edward was a widower and worked as a joiner. He gave his address as Adelaide Street, Bishop Auckland. Margaret gave her address a West Auckland Colliery.8 Edward was listed as the head of the family of on the census of 5 April 1891 in 2 Catherine Street, Hartlepool, Durham, England, Edward was a joiner and cabinet maker.9 Edward was listed as head of household in the census of 2 April 1911 in 6 Temp Terrace, Hartlepool, Durham, England, Edward was listed as a general labourer living with his wife in their three roomed home. Their boarder Gordon Trembath completed the household sheet for them He wrote the correct number of years of marriage for Edward and Margaret but wrote that they had no children. I think that is incorrect.10 Edward died in 1921 in Hartlepool, Durham, England.11

     Joseph Bean was born in 1873 in Great Ayton, Yorkshire, England.1,2 He was the son of Henry Bean and Jane Lidster.1 In the census of 3 April 1881 in Bridge Street, Great Ayton, Yorkshire, England, he was listed as the son of Henry Bean he was a scholar.3 In the census of 5 April 1891 in Bridge Street, Great Ayton, Yorkshire, England, he was listed as the son of Henry Bean Joseph was a gardener.4 He married Emma Greathead, daughter of John Greathead and Ann Smith, in 1894 in Stockton on Tees, Durham, England.5 Joseph was listed as head of household in the census of 31 March 1901 in High Farm, Great Ayton, Yorkshire, England, Joseph was a gardener and his wife was listed as Emily.6 His wife Emily died on 1905 in Stokesley, Yorkshire, England, Her death was registered under the name of Emily.7,8 Joseph was listed as head of household in the census of 2 April 1911 in Spring Hill, Great Ayton, Yorkshire, England, Joseph was living with his father and son Francis in their four roomed home.
