     Mervyn Hanau married Monica Ann Froehlich, daughter of Casper Lotter Froehlich and Alice Milner Greathead, on 29 September 1956 in East London, South Africa, This was rather a sad whirlwind marriage. Mervyn and Monica were engaged, married and divorced within one calendar year. There were no children from the marriage.1

The ceremony was witnessed by R A Leaver and S M Bathgate. Trevor was a tolsetter living at 7 Thetford Road, Great Barr.
