     Edgar Vincent Halliday Gudgeon was born on 18 September 1891 in St Pancras, London, England.1,2,3 He was the son of Smith Halliday Gudgeon.4 In the census of 31 March 1901 in 9 Stanhope Gardens, Tottenham, London, England, he was listed as the son of Smith Halliday Gudgeon.5 He married Norah Edith Greathead, daughter of Charles Thomas Greathead and Letitia Caroline Greenwood, on 10 August 1918 in St Paul's, Harringay, London, England, aftre the banns had been read. The ceremony was witnessed by L Greathead, presumably Norah's mother and S H Gudgeon, probably Edgar's father Edgar gave his occupation as Manager of Munitions works and his address as 9 Stanhope Gardens. His father was a heraldic artist. Norah gave her address as 84 Hampden Road, Hornsea and her father was an artist.6,7,3 On 9 September 1939 in the National Register Edgar was listed as living at 62 Arcadian Gardens, Wood Green, London, England, with his wife Norah. Edgar was a working partnerin a tin plate sign manufacturer.8 His wife Norah died on November 1951 in Wood Green, London, England, aged 58.9,10,11,3 Edgar died on 31 May 1961 in 62 Arcadias Gardens, Wood Green, London, England, aged 69.10,12,13 The will of Edgar was proved on 26 October 1961 in London to his son John Graham Gudgeon and daughter Irene Sybil Hughes. His estate was valued at £22,985 6s6d.13

     Audrey N H Gudgeon was born on 7 January 1922 in Edmonton, London, England.1 She was the daughter of Edgar Vincent Halliday Gudgeon and Norah Edith Greathead. On 9 September 1939 in the National Register Audrey N H Gudgeon was listed as living at 62 Arcadian Gardens, Wood Green, London, England, with her parents Audrey was a typist and book keeper for a mineral water manufacturer.2 She married Marcel Denis in 1946.3 Her husband Marcel died on 2 March 1965.3 She married Denys Bernard Marr on 5 July 1986.3 Her husband Denys died on 22 January 1994.3

Arthur Walter Little
     Arthur Walter Little was born on 8 February 1895 in Holborn, London, England.2,3,4 Arthur joined East Surrey Regiment No 50197 when he was living in 39 Regents Square in North West London on 6 March 1916. He was five foot ten inchestall, weighed 138 pounds, had a chest measuremnet of 34 inches and was of good physical appearance. He had 4 vacination marks from infancy.2,5 On 17 January 1918 Arthur was returned to England and spent some time in the Military Hospital in Tidworth suffering from Trench feet. He was relaeased from hospital on 8 March 1918.5 As a Corporal in Benacre he was repremanded twice on 25 May 1919 for non attendance on Parade.5 While in Pontefract as a sergeant he was severely reprimanded for breaking out of camp without permission and remaining absent until 22:30 on 4 August 1919.5 Arthur was demobbed on 25 September 1919.5 He married Maud Hawthorn Greathead, daughter of Charles Thomas Greathead and Letitia Caroline Greenwood, on 3 June 1923 in Edmonton, London, England.1 In the London Gazette of 5 March 1943 under the heading of The Liabilities (War -Time Adjustment) Act 1941, Adjustment Orders No 52 there appears the following:
Messrs Greathead and Little, proprietors A W Little and C T Greathead, 32 Green Lane, Palmers Green N13 Hosiers. Charles Thomas Greathead resided at 98 Upsdell Avenue, Palmers Green N 13 and Arthur Walter Little resided at 114 Upsdell Avenue Palmers Green N13. The date of the order was 11 February 1943 in Edmonton Court. Charles and Arthur were brothers in law. An order of discharge dated 17 May 1945 appeared in the London Gazette on 8 June 1945.6 His wife Maud died on 15 June 1979 in Enfield, Middlesex, England, aged 83.7,2,8 Arthur died on 4 June 1982 in Enfield, Middlesex, England, aged 87.9,2

He was a Stoker 1st Class in the Royal Navy and is commemorated at the Portsmouth Naval Memorial.2,6,7
