     Thomas Kirkup was born on 21 February 1852 in Haughton le Skerne, Durham, England.1,2 He was the son of John Kirkup and Jane Greathead.1 In the census of 7 April 1861 in Haughton le Skerne, Durham, England, he was listed as the son of John Kirkup.3 In the census of 2 April 1871 in Mechanics Institute, Haughton le Skerne, Durham, England, he was listed as the son of John Kirkup Thomas was an engineers labourer.4 He married Mary Ann Hullah in 1880 in Darlington, Durham, England.5 Thomas was listed as the head of the family on the census of 3 April 1881 in Haughton le Skerne, Durham, England, Thomas was an agriultural labourer. In the census of 2 April 1911 in 125 Craddock Street, Spennymoor, Durham, England, she was listed as the daughter of George William Greathead.3 In the census of 19 June 1921 in 125 Craddock Street, Spennymoor, Durham, England, she was listed as the daughter of George William Greathead.4 She married Albert E Crawford in 1927 in Auckland, Durham, England.5 She married William Wilkinson in 1935 in Chelsea, London, England.6 On 29 September 1939 in the National Register Mabel was listed as living at 2 Mill Isle Cottages, West End, Weardale, Durham, England, with her husband William. William was a furnaceman at the forge.7 Mabel died in September 2000 in Durham, England, aged 93.8
