William Henry Lamb was born on 17 November 1817 in Cockerton, Darlington, Durham, England.2,3,4 He was the son of Charles Lamb and Margaret Elliot. He was baptised on 4 December 1817 in Darlington, Durham, England.5 He married Eliza Wilson, daughter of Robert Thomas Wilson and Elizabeth Dales, on 21 December 1839 in All Saints, Ingelby Arncliffe, Yorkshire, England, Their marriage was witnessed by William Spark and Mary Glover.3,6 William, Eliza and their six children travelled on the ship "Golconda" which left Liverpool on 30 January 1854 and arrived in New Orleans on Saturday 18 March 1854. Little Marintha had died in 1853. William and his family were converted by Mormon missionaries into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. They travelled with Captain Kearnes' ox-train and eventually settled in Wales in Utah.3
William was listed as head of household in the census of 1 June 1860 in Nephi, Juah, Utah, USA, William was a farmer living with his wife and children.7 William was listed as the head of the family on the census of 10 June 1880 in Wales, Sanpete County, Utah, USA, William was a farmer living with his wife and son.8 William died on 28 November 1887 in Wales, Sanpete County, Utah, USA, aged 70.2,3,5
William was buried on 30 November 1887 in Wales, Sanpete County, Utah, USA.3 Alfred is buried close to his parents, William and Eliza. Their grave stones can be seen on the picture.3

Jane Lamb was born in 1825 in Darlington, Durham, England.1,2 She was the daughter of Charles Lamb and Margaret Elliot. She married James Howes, son of James Howes, on 31 March 1847 in St Hilda's, Hartlepool, Durham, England, The people who witnessed their marriage were used by many couples, as they were two of the few people in the area who could write and were possibly employed by the church as "official" witnesses.3,4 Jane was listed as the head of the family on the census of 7 April 1861 in Prisick Street, Hartlepool, Durham, England, Jane was listed as the head of the household and a seaman's wife living with her three children.5 In the census of 2 April 1871 in 75 Charles Street, Jarrow, Durham, England, she was listed as the wife of James Howes.6 Jane died in 1875 in South Shields, Durham, England.7,8
