Charles Atwood Gill was born in 1772.2 He was the son of John Gill and Margaret ...1 He married Elizabeth Turmaine, daughter of Jean Turmaine and Elizabeth Marsh, on 16 April 1797 in St John the Baptist, Margate, Kent, England, The ceremony was witnessed by Stephen Crofts, Isabella Gill, Mary Sackett and John Turmayne. There are no known children from this marriage.1,3 His wife Elizabeth died on 1810.4 Charles died in 1820.2 Charles was buried on 27 September 1820 in St Dunstans, Canterbury, Kent, England.1

Kate Bryan married Charles Turmine, son of Francois Pierre Nicolas Turmine and Mary Ann Tritton, on 7 November 1880 in Canterbury, Kent, England.1,2,3 In the census of 3 April 1881 in 5 Dover Street, Canterbury, Kent, England, she was listed as the wife of Charles Turmine.4,1 Kate and Charles emigrated on 25 August 1883 on the immigrant ship "Cape Clear" arriving in Hobart, Tasmania on 26 October 1883. During the voyage Kate washed flags. Charles was a farming man, I believe he grew hops.1,5,6

Eliza Mary Bullock was born about 1837 in Norwood, London, England.1 She was the daughter of Joseph Billingsley Bullock and Elizabeth Lawrence.1 She was baptised on 1 September 1837 in St Luke, Lambeth, London, England, her father was a solicitor and the family lived in Norwood.2 In the census of 30 March 1851 at 2 Norbury Hill Square, Kensington, London, England, she was listed as a pupil living with John and Esther Gilbert. Esther was a schoolmistress and her husband John a glove manufacturer. Eliza is listed as aged 13 and a scholar.3 Eliza was listed as the head of the family on the census of 7 April 1861 in The Deanery, Lincoln, Lincolnshire, England, Eliza was a governess on the staff of the Dean of Lincoln Thomas and Caroline Garnier.4 In the census of 2 April 1871 in 10 Goring Station Road, Hastings, Sussex, England, she was listed as the sister of Frederick Bullock Eliza was living with her Curate brother and sister Julia.5 Eliza died on 9 January 1884 in 3 Manchester Street, Marylebone, London, England.6,7 Her estate was probated on 5 February 1884 in London to her brother Charles . Her estate was valued at £1,672 13s 4d and resworn in May 1884 £1,908 18s 1d.7
