     Frederick Turmaine was born on 30 July 1854 in Thanet, Kent, England.1,2 He was the son of William Turmaine and Jane Morris.1 He was baptised on 20 August 1854 in St John the Baptist, Margate, Kent, England.1 In the census of 7 April 1861 in Serene Cottage, Margate, Kent, England, he was listed as the son of William Turmaine.3

William Turmaine

     William Turmaine was born about 1811 in Walmer, Kent, England.1 He was the son of Edward Turmaine and Mary Marsh. There was a settlement certificate issued from Westgate, canterbury to Walmer on 28 October 1820 on Edward, his wife Mary and their sons William aged 9 and Thomas aged 3 and half.2 In the census of 6 June 1841 in 2 Booth Place, Margate, Kent, England, he was listed as the son of Edward Turmaine William was a plasterer.1,3 He married Jane Morris, daughter of Richard Morris, in 1842 in Thanet, Kent, England.1,4 In the census of 30 March 1851 at Seven Star Street, Dover, Kent, England, he was listed as lodging with George Baker and his family. I guess he was working away from home as he was staying in a lodging house.5 William was listed as the head of the family of on the census of 7 April 1861 in Serene Cottage, Margate, Kent, England, William was a plasterer.6 William was listed as the head of the family of on the census of 3 April 1881 in 2 Booth Place, Margate, Kent, England, William was a plasterer.7 William died in 1893 in Bridge, Kent, England.8,9

     Jane Morris was born about 1819 in Margate, Kent, England.1 She was the daughter of Richard Morris.1 In the census of 6 June 1841 in New Street, Margate, Kent, England, she was listed as the daughter of Richard Morris.2 She married William Turmaine, son of Edward Turmaine and Mary Marsh, in 1842 in Thanet, Kent, England.1,3 In the census of 7 April 1861 in Serene Cottage, Margate, Kent, England, she was listed as the wife of William Turmaine Jane was a laundress.4 In the census of 3 April 1881 in 2 Booth Place, Margate, Kent, England, she was listed as the wife of William Turmaine.5 Her husband William died on 1893 in Bridge, Kent, England.6,7 Jane died in 1907 in Isle of Thanet, Kent, England.6,8

Henry John Turmaine1

     Henry John Turmaine was born in 1851 in Isle of Thanet, Kent, England.1 He was the son of William Turmaine and Jane Morris.1 He was baptised on 16 November 1851 in St John the Baptist, Margate, Kent, England.1 In the census of 7 April 1861 in Serene Cottage, Margate, Kent, England, he was listed as the son of William Turmaine.2 He married Lucy Jane Attwell in 1875 in Margate, Kent, England.3,4 Henry was listed as the head of the family on the census of 3 April 1881 in 38 Barth Road, Margate, Kent, England, Henry and Lucy were living with their children. He was working as a bricklayer.5 Sadly the deaths of young Frederick and Alice were registered together in 1882.6 His wife Lucy died on 1922 in Thanet, Kent, England.7 Henry died in 1924 in Bridge, Kent, England.8

     Jane Elizabeth Turmaine was born in 1845 in Thanet, Kent, England.1,2 She was the daughter of William Turmaine and Jane Morris.1 She was baptised on 10 May 1846 in St John the Baptist, Margate, Kent, England.1 In the census of 7 April 1861 in Serene Cottage, Margate, Kent, England, he was listed as the son of William Turmaine Jane was a charwoman.3 In the census of 2 April 1871 she was listed as a boarder The sisters Jane and Sarah a boarding with Edith Bleaden.4,1 She married Benjamin Webb in 1876 in Canterbury, Kent, England.5,6 In the census of 3 April 1881 in 6 Caroline Square, Margate, Kent, England, he was listed as a lodger Jane, her husband and her child were lodgers of the Culver family.7

     Ethel Priscilla Schwar was born in 1890 in West Ham, London, England.2 She married Alfred George Fletcher, son of George Fletcher and Emma Leagas, in 1915 in West Ham, London, England.1 Her husband Alfred died on 19 October 1942 aged 52.2 Ethel died on 14 July 1951.2
