     William Hector Turmaine was born on 21 September 1900 in West Ham, London, England.1,2,3 He was the son of William John Turmaine and Emma Leagas.1 In the census of 31 March 1901 in 9 Boston Road, Walthamstow, London, England, he was listed as the son of William John Turmaine.1,4 William signed up for the hostilities on 23 September 1918 and sailed on Pembroke II returning on 1 December 1918, then he joined the Inflexible on 2 December 1918 to 28 August 1919 when he was demobbed. He was described as being five foot five inches tall with a thirty-four and half inch chest measurement. His hair and eyes were brown and his complexion described as pale. He had a scar on his right elbow and both knees and a mole on his right upper arm. His occupation was described as a wire brayer.5 He married Winifred E Amies in 1943 in Hackney, London, England, Winfred's surname was either Amies or Trueman.1 William died on 19 July 1989 in Hastings, Sussex, England, aged 88.1,6,7

The ceremony was witnessed by Charles Rawlings, H T Turmaine and E C Turmaine. Frank was a Lance Corporal in ASCMT.1,6 Her husband Frank died on 15 September 1957 aged 58.7,3 Dorothy died in 1973.7

     Annie Margaret Ritchie was born about 1871 in Glasgow, Lanarkshire, Scotland.1,2 She was the daughter of Emily ...1 She married George Edward Turmaine, son of John Turmaine and Sophia Cook, in 1896 in Thanet, Kent, England.1,3 In the census of 31 March 1901 in 2 Alfred Cottages, Ramsgate, Kent, England, she was listed as the wife of George Edward Turmaine.4 An unknown person was listed as head of household in the census of 2 April 1911 56 Church Road, Ramsgate, Kent, England, George was a coachman cab living with his wife and two remaining living children in their five roomed home.5 Annie died in 1921 in Thanet, Kent, England.6
