Jean Turmaine was born in 1720 in Picardy, France.1,2 He was the son of Guillaume Turmaine and Marianne ...1 He was baptised about 1725 in Canterbury, Kent, England.3 He married Catherine Becre, daughter of Pierre Becre and Marie Claro, on 23 January 1743 in Malthouse Church (Huguenot), Canterbury, Kent, England.4 The baptism record for Suzanne Turmaine reads "Suzanne, daughter of John Turmaine and Catherine Bequiere or Bequire, his wife has been baptised, having for Godfather Nor Turmaine and Godmother Susanne Dermancours, was born 8 March 1754."5 His wife Catherine died on 1773 in Canterbury, Kent, England.6 He married Ann Gibbs on 13 April 1774 in Holy Cross, Westgate, Canterbury, Kent, England, Both Ann and Jean were widowed at the time of their marriage. There were no children from their marriage.1 His wife Ann died on 1778.7 He married Phebe Frend on 28 December 1778 in St Alphege, Canterbury, Kent, England, There were no children from this marriage.
