     Edwina Dorothea Pritchard was born on 15 June 1919 in Wallaroo, South Australia, Australia.1 She married John O'Hagan Greathead, son of George Greathead and Ellen Mary McGladrigan, in 1946.1 Edwina died on 24 February 2002 in Adelaide, South Australia, Australia, aged 82 her death notice appeared the following day in the local paper.1,2,3 Edwina was buried in Centennial Park Cemetery, Pasadena, South Australia, Australia.4

     Hugh Bertie Greatheed was baptised on 10 June 1859 in Milford on Sea, Hampshire, England.2 He was born on 10 June 1859 in Lymington, Hampshire, England.1,3 He was the son of William Samuel Greatheed and Amelia Frances Baillie.1 In the census of 7 April 1861 in Everton Villa, Milford, Hampshire, England, he was listed as the son of William Samuel Greatheed.4 Hugh's mother died on 8 January 1892. He received administration on 15 February 1892. He was an engineer.5 Hugh travelled leaving London on 25 November on 25 November 1896 onboard SS Ionic bound for Cape, South Africa.6 Hugh died in 1910 in Alexandria, Egypt.7

     James Christopher Thairlwall was born about 1801 in Richmond, Yorkshire, England.1 He married Sarah Greathead, daughter of Thomas Greathead and Ruth Whitelock, on 10 December 1840 in Marske, Richmond, Yorkshire, England, James was a grocer from Richmond.1,2,3 James was listed as head of household in the census of 30 March 1851 at Bargate, Richmond, Yorkshire, England, James was a wine and spirit merchant. The household consisted of James, his wife Sarah, his brother Richard who was also a wine and spirit merchant. Apprentices called John Metcalfe, Anthony Wharton and William Wales also lived inthe ouse together with a servant Esther Benslow.4 James died in 1852 in Richmond, Yorkshire, England.1,5

     Constance Trilby Gwenddene Booth was born on 12 November 1895 in Stratford, London, England.2,3,1 She was the daughter of Frederick Arthur Booth and Emily Rose Payn.4 In the census of 1 June 1911 in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, she was listed as the servant to George and Margaret Coombes and she had domestic duties.5 She married Sidney Charles Oliver Greathead, son of Walter George Greathead and Amelia Eliza Booth, on 27 June 1914 in 319 Hunter Street West, Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, The congregational ceremony was witnessed by Miss Adelaine Atkins of 388 Harkmeer Street, Hamilton and Miss Darcey Lucy Dunk of 198 Dundern Street, Hamilton.6 Sidney and Constance changed their surname to Grey.1 Charles and Constance appear on the manifest as attempting to gain a visa to travel to Canada from US on 26 September 1933. Their application was rejected. Charles was a listed as a carpenter. They gave their sister in law Mrs E Cunningham (Florence wife of Edward) 3823 Valletbrink Road Los Angeles as their nearest ralative in US.7 Constance took naturalisation papers in 1940.8 Constance died on 19 December 1945 in Los Angeles, California, USA, aged 50.1

     Joseph Greathead was born on 17 September 1825 in Pond Dale, Gilling, Yorkshire, England.1 He was baptised on 19 September 1825 in Saint Agatha, Gilling, Richmond, Yorkshire, England.2 He was the son of Charles Greathead and Elizabeth Dunn. In the census of 6 June 1841 in Hartforth, Pond Dale, Gilling, Yorkshire, England, he was listed as the son of Charles Greathead.3 Joseph was admitted into Christ's College, Cambridge on 3 July 1845. He was awarded his BA in 1849, MA in 1854 and lived at South of Seas House, Threadneedle Street, London.1 Joseph was the informant when his father Charles was admitted into Dinsdale Park, a lunatic asylum on 24 June 1865. Joseph was a solictor living in South Lea House, Threadneedle Street in London.4 In the census of 7 April 1861 in 4 Beverley Villas, Charlewood Road, Roehampton, London, England, he was listed as the lodger of Sophia Reeves who was a lodging house keeper. He was a solicitor.5 Joseph died on 29 May 1869 in Ravensworth, Richmond, Yorkshire, England, aged 43.6,7 Joseph was buried in St Peter and St Felix, Kirby Hill, Richmond, Yorkshire, England, Inscription on the gravestone read: Erected to the memory of Ellen dau of Charles & Elizabeth GREATHEAD who d. 19 Oct 1849 aged 22yrs. Reverse. In affectionate remembrance of Mary wife of John GREATHEAD of Ravensworth who d. 10 Mar 1863 aged 71yrs. Also in memory of Joseph GREATHEAD MA son of Charles & Elizabeth GREATHEAD who d. at Ravensworth 29 May 1869 aged 43yrs.7,8

Annie Rebecca Greathead - Guy - Grey née Gilby
     Annie Rebecca Gilby was born about 1886 in London, England.1 She was the daughter of Jesse Gilby and Annie Upston.2 Jesse and his wife Annie travelled with their children Anna R aged 19, Beatrice aged 9, Emma aged 10, Ernest G aged 3, Henry aged 18, James aged 5, Mabel E aged 15 and Mary A aged 16. Jesse and Henry were listed as labourers, Mabel and Mary were servants. They travelled aboard the ship Ionian leaving Liverpool on 20 May 1907 bound for Montreal in Canada.3 She married Percy Frederick Victor Greathead, son of Walter George Greathead and Amelia Eliza Booth, on 25 December 1907 in Wentworth, Ontario, Canada, The Church of England ceremony was witnessed by Jesse and Mabel Gilby after the banns had been read. Percy was described as a labourer.1 It would appear that Percy's sister in law Elsie, Albert's wife gave birth to a still born child that died unnamed in his house at 49 Burlington Street, Wentworth. Annie registered the baby boy's death.4 Annie died about 1961.5

In the census of 7 April 1861 in 11 Park Crescent, Marylebone, London, England, he was listed as the visitor of Robert Nayler and family.2 In the census of 2 April 1871 in Lodge Lane, Westerham, Kent, England, he was listed as the boarder of Robert Woodhams James was listed as a scholar and orphan.3 In the census of 3 April 1881 in Lodge Lane, Westerham, Kent, England, he was listed as a visitor of Robert Woodhams James was out of employ.4 In the census of 5 April 1891 in Lodge Lane, Westerham, Kent, England, he was listed as a boarder of Robert Woodhams James was a domestic houseboy and is listed as an idiot from childhood.5

     Robert Woodhams was born about 1819 in Brasted, Kent, England. He was the son of John Woodhams.1 He married Caroline Cook on 30 August 1839 in Westerham, Kent, England.2,3 Robert was listed as head of household in the census of 2 April 1871 in Lodge Lane, Westerham, Kent, England, Robert was an agricultural labourer, Robert and Caroline seem to be offering a home to London children. James Greathed aged 11 was listed as an orphan from Islington and George Nightingale aged three was listed as a bastard from Paddington.4 Robert was listed as the head of the family of on the census of 3 April 1881 in Lodge Lane, Westerham, Kent, England, Robert was a farm labourer, Robert and Caroline are still giving homes to James Greathead and George Nightingale. Albert aged six and John aged two Greathead both described as boarder, nurse child from London.5 Robert was listed as the head of the family of on the census of 5 April 1891 in Lodge Lane, Westerham, Kent, England, Robert was an agricultural labourer, he and Caroline had three boarders.6 Robert died in 1894 in Dartford, Kent, England.7
