     Cyril Sparrow was born on 24 November 1911 in Romford, Essex, England.2,3,4 He was the son of Frederick Joseph Sparrow and Lillie Taylor Phillips.5 He married Elizabeth Eleanor Greathead, daughter of Thomas Henry Greathead and Susan Amelia Taplin, on 25 December 1932 in St Peter and St Paul, Dagenham, Essex, England, after the banns had been read. The ceremony was witnessed by Robert Albert Baldwin and Henry Greathead. Cyril was a window cleaner giving 9 Vicarage Road, Dagenham as his adddress. Elizabeth gave 6 Lake Gardens, Dagenham as her address.6,2,7 When their daughter Kathleen was born in 1936 in Charing Cross Hospital their home address was 19 Hearsfield Road, Dagenham, Essex.8 His wife Elizabeth died on 17 October 1980 in Basildon Hospital, Basildon, Essex, England, aged 69 from Caemiana of the lung and ischaemic heart disease. Her usual address was 144 Nether Priors in Basildon.2,9 Cyril died on 17 April 1983 in 144 Nether Priors, Basildon, Essex, England, aged 71 from cardiac infaration, coronary occlusions and Atherma.      James Greathead was born on 24 September 1836 in Manchester, Lancashire, England.1,2,3 He was the son of Richard Greathead and Sarah Whitworth.1 He was baptised on 25 June 1837 in Collegiate, Manchester, Lancashire, England, His father Richard was a spinner.2,3 He died on 10 May 1839 in Cock Gates, Manchester, Lancashire, England, aged 2½ years from inflamation of the chest. His Aunt Elizabeth Buckley was the informant of his death.1,4,5

     Ann Haslam was born about 1791.2 She married Robert Greathead, son of William Greathead and Martha Posnett, on 1 January 1808 in St Peter, Bolton le Moors, Lancashire, England, after the banns had been read. The ceremony was witnessed by William Orrell and James Orrell.1,3,4 Her husband Robert died on 21 November 1813 in 7 Pooleys Buildings, Hulme, Manchester, Lancashire, England, Robert was married and worked as a weaver.1,5 She married David Bradley on 14 November 1814 in Collegiate, Manchester, Lancashire, England, after the banns were read. The ceremony was witnessed by I Chantler and Benjamin Ball. David was listed as a bachelor of the Parish and a spinner, Ann was a widow of the Parish.1,6,4 Her husband David died on before 1841.2 In the census of 6 June 1841 in 7 Evans Street, Manchester, Lancashire, England, she was listed as the mother of Richard Greathead Ann was a servant and living with her son and daughters.7

     Jemima Greethead was baptised on 11 March 1787 in St Marys, Redcliffe, Bristol, Somerset, England.1 She was the daughter of William Greethead and Elizabeth Harris.1 She married Thomas Watkins on 26 July 1808 in St Michael's, Bristol, Somerset, England.1,2,3 Jemima received a bequest from her Uncle Josiah Greethead in his will which was proved on 23 February 1813. In the census of 30 March 1851 at Regents Place, St Philip and St Jacob, Bristol, Somerset, England, she was listed as the mother in law of George Edwards.1 In the census of 7 April 1861 in 66 York Street, Bristol, Somerset, England, she was listed as the mother of Jane Fackrell.4,1 She died on 8 March 1862 in 19 York Street, Bristol, Somerset, England, aged 74 Her death was registered by her daughter Jemima Edwards who was then living at 58 York Street, Bristol.1
