     Ellen Mary Banthorpe was born in 1867 in Hoxne, Suffolk, England.1,2,3 She was the daughter of William Banthorpe and Letitia Bloomfield.1 She was baptised on 29 December 1867 in Dennington, Suffolk, England.4,5 In the census of 2 April 1871 in Tannington Road, Dennington, Suffolk, England, she was listed as the daughter of William Banthorpe.6 In the census of 3 April 1881 in Maypole Green, Dennington, Suffolk, England, she was listed as the daughter of William Banthorpe She was described as a scholar.7 In the census of 5 April 1891 in Balham Hill, Wandsworth, London, England, she was listed as the servant She was the housemaid to the Slee family.8 In the census of 31 March 1901 in Rowanhurst, Atkins Road, Clapham, London, England, she was listed as the servant and domestic housemaid to Ellen Slee and her family, there are two other servants in the household.9 In the census of 2 April 1911 in Rowanhurst, Atkins Road, Clapham, London, England, she was listed as a domestic house maid for Arthur Slee an Auctioneer and his family. William aged 12, Frederick J aged 11 who both worked like their father as agricultural labourers. Harry aged 9, Walter aged 7, Maisey aged 5 and Patience E aged 3 all described as scholars. To complete the family at the census was little Florence aged 9 months.7

     Frederick Fulcher was born about 1859 in Saxlingham, Norfolk, England.2 He married Jessie Banthorpe, daughter of William Banthorpe and Mary Ann Brown, on 4 November 1880 in Saxlingham, Nethergate, Norfolk, England.1,3 Frederick was listed as the head of the family on the census of 5 April 1891 in Old Lane, Upgate, Henstead, Norfolk, England, Frederick was an agricultural labourer living with his wife Jessie and their seven children. William aged 12, Frederick J aged 11 who both worked like their father as agricultural labourers. Harry aged 9, Walter aged 7, Maisey aged 5 and Patience E aged 3 all described as scholars.
