     Amy Greathead was born on 15 August 1895 in Birmingham, Warwickshire, England.2 She was the daughter of Isaac Greathead and Priscilla Bradley. She was baptised on 25 August 1895 in St Paul, Birmingham, Warwickshire, England, the family lived in 9 Warstone Lane and her father was a brass dresser.3 In the census of 31 March 1901 in 8th Court, 13 House Burchett Street, Birmingham, Warwickshire, England, she was listed as the daughter of Priscilla Greathead.4 In the census of 2 April 1911 in 20 Wellington Place, Wednesfield House, Wolverhampton, Staffordshire, England, she was listed as the daughter of Isaac Greathead Amy was a presser.5 She witnessed the marriage of William Josiah Clarke and May Beatrice Greathead on 21 September 1914 in St Edward, Birmingham, Warwickshire, England.6,7 She married William Johnson on 3 August 1915 in St Mary, Aston Brook, Warwickshire, England, after the banns had been read. The ceremony was witnessed by William Josiah Clarke and Mary Agnes Reynolds. William was a soldier.8,9,7 In the census of 19 June 1921 in 3 Albert Place, Birmingham, Warwickshire, England, she was listed as the daughter of Isaac Greathead.10 On 29 September 1939 in the National Register Amy was listed as living at 43 Pugh Road, Birmingham, Warwickshire, England, with her husband William. William was a general labourer living with his wife and children.11 It would seem that ten months after Robert was born the family was split up. Robert was adopted and June was taken into care at Dursley Gloucestershire where she remained until she was 11 years of age when she went to live with her Aunt Amy Johnson who then raised her.12 Amy died in December 1991 in Birmingham, Warwickshire, England, aged 96.13

Priscilla Mitchell née Bradley late Greathead
     Priscilla Bradley was born in 1876 in Wolverhampton, Staffordshire, England.2 She was the daughter of George Bradley and Mary Ann Richards.3 In the census of 3 April 1881 in 7 Back 177 High Street, Wolverhampton, Staffordshire, England, she was listed as the daughter of George Bradley.4 In the census of 5 April 1891 in 53 Jakemans Walk, Kings Norton, Birmingham, Warwickshire, England, she was listed as the daughter of George Bradley.5 She married Isaac Greathead, son of John Greathead and Harriet Bolstridge, on 16 October 1892 in Holy Trinity, Bordesley, Aston, Warwickshire, England, after the banns had been read on 18 and 25 September and 2 October 1892. The ceremony was witnessed by George and Clara Bradley, who both signed with their marks. Isaac was a brass dresser. Both George and Priscilla gave their address as 9 Highgate Street. Isaac and Priscilla had twenty one children although many died in infancy.6,7 Priscilla was listed as head of household in the census of 31 March 1901 in 8th Court, 13 House Burchett Street, Birmingham, Warwickshire, England, Isaac was in a convalescent home in Llanrhos, Wales. Patricia was at home with the children.8 In the census of 2 April 1911 in 20 Wellington Place, Wednesfield House, Wolverhampton, Staffordshire, England, she was listed as the wife of Isaac Greathead Priscilla was a steam press worker.9 In the census of 19 June 1921 in 3 Albert Place, Birmingham, Warwickshire, England, she was listed as the wife of Isaac Greathead.10 Her husband Isaac died on 21 November 1922 in Birmingham, Warwickshire, England.11 She married Joseph Mitchell in 1923 in Birmingham, Warwickshire, England.12 Priscilla died on 7 August 1940 in Birmingham, Warwickshire, England.13,14 Priscilla was buried on 13 August 1940 in Witton Cemetery, Moor Lane, Birmingham, Warwickshire, England, she was interred in the family grave.13
