     Emily McKenna was born in 1882 in Manchester, Lancashire, England.1 She was the daughter of Michael McKenna and Catherine Holden. She married Roland Kair, son of Alexander Kair and Julia Harriot Thorp Holt, in 1910 in Manchester, Lancashire, England.2,3 In the census of 2 April 1911 in 84 Every Street, ancoats, Manchester, Lancashire, England, she was listed as the wife of Roland Kair.4 Her husband Roland died on 1 July 1916 in France aged 37 at the Battle of the Somme. Private Roland Kair of 155 Every Street in Ancoats was serving in 1st Battallion of His Majesty's Royal Lancashire Regiment.2,5 Emily was listed as head of household in the census of 19 June 1921 in 155 Every Street, Ancoat, Manchester, Lancashire, England, Emily was a draper on her won account living with her daughters Hilda and Emily. She also had her sister Teresa and brother in law Louis and their children living with her.6 Emily died in 1968 in Manchester, Lancashire, England.7
