David Charles Berridge was born on 26 January 1928 in Georgetown, British Guiana.2,3 He was the son of Charles Henry Berridge and Gwendoline Greathead. Charles, a grocer, his wife Gwen, two year old David and little Sybil aged 10 months travelled from Liverpool leaving on 26 April 1930 on board the ship Amakura bound for Demerara in British Guiana. They gave their last address in the UK as 13 Sitterton Bere Regis, Wareham in Dorset.2 Charles and Gwendoline travelled aboard the ship Ingria with their children David, Sybil and ten month old Michael. They travelled first class.4 Charles and Gwendoline arrived in Plymouth with their children David, Sybil and Michael aboard the ship Van Rensselaer on 27 April 1939 from their home in British Guiana.5 On 29 September 1939 in the National Register David Charles Berridge was listed as living at 4a Rushmere Road, Bournemouth, Dorset, England, with his parents.6 David lived in British Guiana and came over to England during WW2 and did not go back.7,3 He married Ivy Mary Woodward in 1951 in Hillingdon, Middlesex, England.7,8 David died on 26 June 2005 in Bedfordshire, England, aged 77.7,9
