The marriage was reported in the Oswestry Advertiser of 11 November 1863. Joseph was a coachman to Rev John Husband of Selattyn. Joseph Tunley was born on 30 October 1808 in Llanyblodwel, Shropshire, England.1,2,3 He was the son of Joseph Tunley and Mary Anne Davies. He married Elizabeth Ellis on 24 May 1834 in Oswestry, Shropshire, England.4,2 Joseph was listed as head of household in the census of 30 March 1851 at Blodwell, Llanyblodwel, Shropshire, England, Joseph was a lime rock labourer.5 He was a stone quarry labourer in 1861. Joseph was listed as head of household in the census of 2 April 1871 in Llanyblodwel, Shropshire, England, Joseph was a labourer in the lime works.6 He died in 1872 in Oswestry, Shropshire, England, Joseph was blown up in gunpowder explosion at Porthywaen lime rocks, which was commonly known as Cooper's Lime rocks. He was one of six lives that were lost on that day. The accident was reported in the Oswestry Advertiser and Montgomery Mercury of Wednesday 5 June 1872.7,2,8,9 Joseph was buried on 8 June 1872 in Llanyblodwel, Shropshire, England, His body was transferred from the blacksmith's shed at the rocks where he had been taken after the accident to the church.9

Thomas Plewman was born on 10 June 1795 in Dublin, County Dublin, Ireland.1 A party of 256 from London led by Lieutenant John Bailie, R.N. sailed in 'Chapman'. Thomas Plewman a cabinet maker aged 23 was among the party.2 He married Louisa Rosa Robinson in 1831.1 Thomas died on 7 September 1867 in Colesburg, Cape Town, South Africa, aged 72.1
