In the census of 2 April 1871 in Porthywaen Road, Llanyblodwel, Shropshire, England, he was listed as the son of Richard Tunley.4 In the census of 3 April 1881 in Porthywaen, Llanyblodwel, Shropshire, England, he was listed as the son of Richard Tunley he was a scholar.5 He was a worker who was employed building the Tyne bridge. In the census of 5 April 1891 in Chester Road, Ellesmere Port, Whitby, Cheshire, England, he was listed as the son of Laurie Jane Tunley John, Richard and Alfred were general labourers.6 In the census of 31 March 1901 in 36 Rowmain Street, Northwich, Cheshire, England, he was listed as the son of Laurie Jane Tunley Richard was enumerated as William and a labourer in the public works, but as his mother was enumerated as male who knows!7 Richard died on 2 March 1902 in 34 Pananic Street, Northwich, Cheshire, England, aged 33 from double pneumonia from which he suffered for seven days. He seemed to be staying with his brother John, who notified the authorities. Again he is listed as William.8 Richard was buried on 6 March 1902 in Hartford Church, Hartford, Cheshire, England.9
