George was a ships clerk.15 George died on 19 March 1946 in Guys Hospital, Southwark, London, England, aged 56.16,1 George was buried in Surbiton Cemetery, Lower Marsh Lane, Kingston upon Thames, Surrey, England, on 26 March 1946 in grave number 6585 Section XVII Class C.17,18

She was affiliated with the Protestant Faith, she was a former McDowell County Deputy in the Accessor's office in Welch, and was a resident of Big Four most of her life. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dennis P. "Dink" Stanley; two sisters, Evaline Greathead and Doris Turner; three others, Thomas Conklin "Conk" Greathead, William Henry Greathead, and Sam Greathead. Survivors include one sister, Opal Sawyers of 109 Fairview Street, Princeton; two special nieces, Darlene Goodson and husband, Wayne of Princeton, Carol Collins and husband, Connie of Bluefield; three sisters-in-law, Mary Louise Stanley of Fairview, Tenn., Edith Greathead of Bluefield, Phillis Greathead of Abingdon, Va; several additional nieces and nephews; and several great-nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be conducted Tuesday, July 19, 2005 at 1 p.m. at the Roselawn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum Chapel, Princeton, with the Rev. Douglas Williams officiating. Burial will follow after service. Those wishing to attend the service are asked to meet at the Mausoleum by 1 p.m. If desired Memorial contributions may be made to one's favourite charity.
