In the census of 6 June 1841 in East Feldom, Marske, Yorkshire, England, she was listed as the sister of Matthew Greathead.2 In the census of 30 March 1851 at Feldom, Marske, Yorkshire, England, she was listed as the sister of Matthew Greathead Rebecca was living with her brother Matthew.3 In the census of 7 April 1861 in Market Place, Richmond, Yorkshire, England, she was listed as a lodger Rebecca was a fundholder and staying with Edward Gibson and his family.4 In the census of 2 April 1871 in Frenchgate, Richmond, Yorkshire, England, she was listed as the lodger with no one else listed at home and lived on the income from her interest.5 In the census of 3 April 1881 in 4 Victoria Place, Richmond, Yorkshire, England, she was listed as an unmarried retired farmer living in a lodging house.1,6 Rebecca died on 2 January 1888 in Richmond, Yorkshire, England, aged 85.7,8 Rebecca was buried on 4 January 1888 in St Michael and All Angels, Downholme, Yorkshire, England.9,10 The will of Rebecca was proved on 26 April 1888 by Elizabeth Greathead of Cogden Hall, Richmond. Her estate was valued at under £630 5s 11d.8

In the census of 6 June 1841 in Need House, Marske, Yorkshire, England, she was listed as the daughter of Thomas Greathead.2 In the census of 30 March 1851 at Marske, Yorkshire, England, she was listed as the sister of Francis Greathead.3 In the census of 7 April 1861 in Reeth, Richmond, Yorkshire, England, she was listed as the boarder of Catherine Greathead Ruth was a fund holder.4 Ruth was listed as head of household in the census of 2 April 1871 in Reeth, Richmond, Yorkshire, England, Ruth was an annuitant.5 In the census of 3 April 1881 in Bridge Street, Helmsley, Yorkshire, England, she was listed as the sister of Susannah Greathead and was listed as an annuitant and a widow. Her sister Ruth or was it sister in law was living with her.6 She died on 24 November 1885 in Richmond, Yorkshire, England, aged 81 Ruth did not marry.7,8 Ruth was buried in St Edmund, Marske, Yorkshire, England, the gravestone read: In memory of Ruth w/o Thomas Greathead of Marske who d 24 Nov 1847 aged 77 yrs. Thomas Greathead d. 19 Oct 1850 aged 82 yrs. Francis their son b 6 May 1809 interred at Bellerby 2 Apr 1880 aged 72 yrs. Ruth their dau d. 24 Nov 1885 aged 81 yrs.9,10,11 The will of Ruth was proved on 1 November 1886 at York by Elizabeth Greathead from Cogden Hall and Anthony Wharton. Her estate was valued at under £1680 5s 10d.8

Matthew was listed as the head of the family on the census of 6 June 1841 in East Feldom, Marske, Yorkshire, England, he was a farmer.3 Matthew was listed as head of household in the census of 30 March 1851 at Feldom, Marske, Yorkshire, England, Matthew was a farmer of 400 acres of land employing four men. He was living with his sister Rebecca.4 He married Mary Gowland on 7 December 1858 in Teesdale, Durham, England.5,6 Matthew was listed as the head of the family on the census of 7 April 1861 in Feldon, Marske, Yorkshire, England, Matthew was a farmer with 440 acres employing two men and two boys and living with his wife.7 Matthew was listed as head of household in the census of 2 April 1871 in West Witton, Yorkshire, England, Matthew was a retired farmer.8 Matthew was listed as the head of the family on the census of 3 April 1881 in Hestholme, Thornaby on Tees, Yorkshire, England, Matthew was a farmer with 25 acres.9 Matthew died on 3 May 1885 in Newton le Willows, Richmond, Yorkshire, England, aged 79.10,11 The will of Matthew was proved on 14 July 1885 at York by Thomas Eyles of Richmond a grocer and Mary his widow.      Catherine Greathead was baptised on 21 October 1807 in Marske, Richmond, Yorkshire, England.1,2 She was the daughter of Thomas Greathead and Ruth Whitelock. She married Adam Blenkhorn on 6 February 1830 in Downholme, Yorkshire, England, The ceremony was witnessed by Rebecca Greathead and John Lodge.1,3,2 Her husband Adam died on 8 August 1840 in Reeth, Yorkshire, England.4,5,6 Catherine was listed as the head of the family on the census of 6 June 1841 in Ellerton, Yorkshire, England, Catherine is head of the Blenkhorn family but has John Lodge above her in the listing, he is probably a relative as she gives her daughter his surname as one of her forenames.7 Catherine was listed as head of household in the census of 30 March 1851 at Ellerton Abbey, Yorkshire, England, Catherine was a farmer of 196 acres of land and 200 acres of moor. She employed three labourers, her son John and Elizabeth were living with her together with her son Adam who was described as a scholar. the family had two servants.8 Catherine was listed as the head of the family of on the census of 7 April 1861 in Reeth, Richmond, Yorkshire, England, Catherine was a widow and was a landed proprietor.9 Catherine was listed as the head of the family on the census of 3 April 1881 in Reeth, Yorkshire, England, Catherine was listed as an annuitant.
