In the census of 19 June 1921 in 6 Churstow Place, Birmingham, Warwickshire, England, he was listed as the son of Joseph Thomas Greathead.4 On 29 September 1939 in the National Register Joseph Henry Greathead was listed as living at 6 Arsenal Street, Birmingham, Warwickshire, England, with his parents.5 He married Lilian Amelia Tydeman on 14 December 1940 in St James, Shirley, Solihull, Warwickshire, England.6,1 Joseph died on 2 December 1982 in 29 Loxley Avenue, Shirley, Birmingham, Warwickshire, England, aged 69.7,8 Administration papers were issued with a will on 11 March 1983 in Birmingham. His effects were described as not exceeding £25,000.8

     Lilian Amelia Tydeman was born on 1 September 1911.1 On 29 September 1939 in the National Register Lilian was listed as living at 36 Jacey Road, Solihull, Warwickshire, England, with her sister Flora and brother Robert, Lilian was a secretary and shorthand typist.2 She married Joseph Henry Greathead, son of Joseph Thomas Greathead and Clara Chance, on 14 December 1940 in St James, Shirley, Solihull, Warwickshire, England.3,1 Lilian died on 9 August 1996 in Solihull, Warwickshire, England, aged 84.4,1

     Clara Chance was born on 24 February 1882 in Hitchin, Hertfordshire, England, The National Register suggests her year of birth was 1883.1,2,3 She was the daughter of John Chance and Mary ... She married Joseph Thomas Greathead, son of Samuel Greathead and Dinah Ann Westbury, on 16 April 1910 in St Andrew, Bordesley, Warwickshire, England, after the banns had been read. The ceremony was witnessed by John Chance and Kate Hards. Joseph was listed as cycle worker and lived at 27 Milward Street. Clara was living at 71 Milward Street.4,5 In the census of 2 April 1911 in 2/118 Greenway Street, Aston, Warwickshire, England, she was listed as the wife of Joseph Thomas Greathead.6 In the census of 19 June 1921 in 6 Churstow Place, Birmingham, Warwickshire, England, she was listed as the wife of Joseph Thomas Greathead.7 On 29 September 1939 in the National Register Clara was listed as living at 6 Arsenal Street, Birmingham, Warwickshire, England, with her husband Joseph. And their son. Joseph was a cycle work frame setter.8 Her husband Joseph died on 6 July 1967 in Birmingham, Warwickshire, England, aged 81.1,9 She died on 30 December 1967 in Birmingham, Warwickshire, England, aged 85 When Joseph died Clara burned every piece of personal history, photographs, the lot.1,10,11 Her body was cremated in January 1968 in Yardley Crematorium, Yardley Road, Birmingham, Warwickshire, England.12 The will of Clara was proved on 21 February 1968 in Birmingham. Her effects were valued at £1335.10
