     Joseph Wilkinson was born in 1860 in Longbenton, Northumberland, England.1,2 He was the son of Robert Wilkinson and Mary Ewart.1 In the census of 7 April 1861 in Glebe Row, Bedlington, Northumberland, England, he was listed as the son of Robert Wilkinson Robert a coal miner lived with his wife Mary and their one month old son Joseph.3 In the census of 3 April 1881 in The Square, Seaton Burn, Longbenton, Northumberland, England, he was listed as the son of Mary Wilkinson Joseph was a coal miner.4 He married Eliza Annie Greathead, daughter of Thomas Greathead and Mary Whittaker, in 1886 in Lanchester, Durham, England.5 Joseph was listed as the head of the family on the census of 5 April 1891 in Lennox Cottages, Longbenton, Northumberland, England, Joseph was a coal miner.6 In the census of 31 March 1901 in 15 Augusta Terrace, Dinnington, Northumberland, England, he was listed as the son of John Hodgson Joseph was a stone man working below ground.7 His wife Eliza died on 1900 in Tynemouth, Durham, England, possibly giving birth to a daughter who also died.8

     Frederick Thomas was born on 18 July 1900.1 He married Dorothy Gladys Greathead, daughter of James William Greathead and Leah Gertrude Cantrill, on 4 June 1927 in Birmingham, Warwickshire, England.2,3 On 29 September 1939 in the National Register Frederick was listed as living at 102 Kemberton Road, Birmingham, Warwickshire, England, with his wife Dorothy.      William Henry liddell was born in 1844 in Stockton on Tees, Durham, England, and was registered with the name of Liddell.1 He was the son of Thomas Liddell and Elizabeth Greathead. William was baptised as illegitimate to a widow and given the name of Greathead. He may have adopted name of Chaytor later in life. However his death certificate states his surname was Greathead.2 He was Onsetter at Colliery. William died on 12 June 1862 in Trimdon Colliery, Sedgefield, Durham, England, from rheumatic fever, heart diseases. The informant was Elizabeth Chaytor (nee Greathead.)3

He married Nora Greathead, daughter of William Edward Greathead and Cicely Attle, on 17 April 1940 in Register Office, Durham, England, The ceremony was witnessed by George Greathead and Ruth Belton.2 He was a Telegraph Linesman on 17 April 1940. Stanley and Nora had two poodles.3 Stanley and Nora emigrated to Australia in 1970's following the daughters who had emigrated earlier.4

     Michael John Greathead was born on 28 April 1933 in Birmingham, Warwickshire, England.2,1 He was the son of John Henry Greathead and Elsie Egginton. He married Gillian E Toddington in 1957 in Birmingham, Warwickshire, England, This was Michael's first marriage.3 Michael and Gillian were divorced.4 He married Diane Susan Wilkins on 2 April 1966 in Sutton Coldfield, Warwickshire, England, This was Michael's second marriage.1,5 Michael and Diane were divorced.4 Michael died on 18 October 2007 in 22 Briseham Road, Brixham, Devon, England, aged 74 from bronchopneumonia and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. His death was certified by the Coroner after a post mortem without inquest.4,6 His body was cremated on 31 October 2007 in Torquay Crematorium, Torquay, Devon, England, donations to RNLI were requested with whom he worked in later years.7

     John Henry Greathead was born on 21 January 1910 in 18 Bloxwich Road, Willenhall, Staffordshire, England.2 He was the son of Isaac Greathead and Priscilla Bradley. In the census of 2 April 1911 in 20 Wellington Place, Wednesfield House, Wolverhampton, Staffordshire, England, he was listed as the son of Isaac Greathead.3 In the census of 19 June 1921 in 3 Albert Place, Birmingham, Warwickshire, England, he was listed as the son of Isaac Greathead.4 He married Elsie Egginton in 1931 in West Bromwich, Staffordshire, England.5 John was serving as a private in the Royal Army Ordnance Corps service number 5103757 and reported as missing in Greece. He was a prisoner at the German POW camp Stalag XVIIIA Wolfsberg during WW2. His POW number was 2650.6,7 John and Elsie were divorced.8 It would seem that ten months after Robert was born the family was split up. Robert was adopted and June was taken into care at Dursley Gloucestershire where she remained until she was 11 years of age when she went to live with her Aunt Amy Johnson who then raised her.9 He married Dorothy Eileen Oliver, daughter of Frederick Greaves, on 13 December 1950 in Register Office, Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, England, The marriage took place after a licence was issued. It was witnessed by W T Johns and G S Johns. Both John and Dorothy gave their address as 127 Montpellier Street, Cheltenham. John was a chef de Cuisine in a restaurant.10,11 The marriage of John Henry Greathead and Dorothy Eileen Greathead was dissolved on 29 July 1954.8 He remarried Dorothy Eileen Greathead, daughter of Frederick Greaves, on 25 March 1959 in The Register Office, Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, England, They were married for a second time after taking out a licence. J M Waddell and P A Goodhall witnessed the ceremony. Both gave their address as 127 Promenade, Gloucestershire. John was now a chef in a hotel.12,13 John died in 1980 in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, England.1,14
