Cyril Brown was born on 13 January 1923 in Byker, Newcastle upon Tyne, Durham, England.1 He was the son of George Huitson and Margaret Jane Fleetwood.1 He was known to everyone as Sid, because he hated the name Cyril. Sid served in the Army in World war II, in Italy and Africa. He carried a bullet wound in his leg from the war. He worked as a welder in NEI Parsons and in his spare time he would write poetry and enjoyed DIY.1 He married Susannah Rogers, daughter of William Rogers and Elizabeth Railton Whitfield, in 1947 in Newcastle upon Tyne, Durham, England.1,2
His mother Margaret Jane Brown died on 14 April 1976 He was the informant and lived at 39 Rowan Avenue, Newcastle.1,3 His wife Susannah died on October 1985 in Walker, Newcastle upon Tyne, Durham, England, from a heart attack.1,4 Cyril died in August 1991 in 39 Roman Avenue, Walker, Newcastle upon Tyne, Durham, England, aged 68 from lung cancer. He was a smoker since he was aged 12.1
