Judith Helen Hotchkiss née Birks late Rowe
     Judith Helen Birks was born on 24 September 1951 in Holderness, Yorkshire, England.1,2,3 She was the daughter of George Lamb Birks and Jean Elliot. She married Gerald D Rowe in September 1987 in Richmond, Yorkshire, England.4 She married Douglas Hotchkiss in February 1997 in Cardiff, Glamorganshire, Wales.5 Judith died on 12 March 2013 in Sully, Glamorganshire, Wales, aged 61 Jude died peacefully in the early hours exactly a year after she had a massive stroke. Her funeral was Wednesday 20 March at Barry Crematorium at 3pm and her ashes were buried on the 18 May in Arkengarthdale. There was a samily funeral service held at St Mary's Church in Arkengarthdale on 23 March at 12:00 noon.6,7,8

     Emily Rose Mitchell was born on 13 July 1897 in Bramley, Surrey, England.1,2 She was the daughter of Thomas Mitchell and Emily Raggett. She was baptised on 22 August 1897 in Wiley, Surrey, England.3 In the census of 31 March 1901 in Witley, Surrey, England, she was listed as the daughter of Emily Mitchell.4 In the census of 2 April 1911 in Gosden Common, Bramley, Surrey, England, she was listed as the daughter of Emily Mitchell Emily was at school.5 She married Cecil Lawrence Turmaine, son of George Robert Evans Turmaine and Elizabeth Ann Tozer Higham, in 1917 in St Pancras, London, England.6,7,8 In the census of 19 June 1921 in 30 Wellesley Road, St Pancras, London, England, she was listed as the wife of Cecil Lawrence Turmaine.9 Her husband Cecil died on 1927 in Guildford, Surrey, England.10,11 On 29 September 1939 in the National Register Emily was listed as living at Gosden Cottages, Bramley, Surrey, England, Emily was living with her three children.12 She married Ernest James Penny, son of James Penny and Bertha Kirby, in 1943 in Surrey, England.13 She witnessed the marriage of Maureen May Turmaine and Godfrey Ray Mills on 5 June 1954 in Congregational Church, Wonersh, Surrey, England.7,14 Emily died on 20 April 1983 in Bramley, Surrey, England, aged 85.15 Emily was buried on 26 April 1983 in Guildford Crematorium, Godalming, Surrey, England.6

     Maureen May Turmaine was born on 30 November 1928 in 118 Walnut Tree Close, Guildford, Surrey, England, Maureen was registered in the name of her father Basil Belchamber and mother Emily Turmaine by both parents. Basil was a motor coach driver who gave his address as 55 Addison Road, Guildford. Maureen seems to have grown up using the surname Turmaine until her marriage.1,2 She was the daughter of Basil George Belchamber and Emily Rose Mitchell.3 On 29 September 1939 in the National Register Maureen May Turmaine was listed as living at Gosden Cottages, Bramley, Surrey, England, with her parents.4 She married Godfrey Ray Mills on 5 June 1954 in Congregational Church, Wonersh, Surrey, England, after a certificate was issued. The ceremony was witnessed by Mary A Mills and Emily A Penny. Godfrey was a printer journeyman living in Oxford, his father James Mills was a hairdresser but had died. Maureen was a shothand typist living in Gosden Cottages i Bramley.1,5 Her husband Godfrey died on 19 March 2009 in Oxford, Oxfordshire, England, aged 78.6 Maureen died on 11 April 2018 in Reading, Berkshire, England, aged 89. Maureen was buried on 26 April 2018 in Botley Cemetery, North Hinksey Lane, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England, next to her husband in the Woodland graves.6

     Godfrey Ray Mills was born on 1 February 1931 in Portsmouth, Hampshire, England, his mothers maiden name was Mills.1,2 He married Maureen May Turmaine, daughter of Basil George Belchamber and Emily Rose Penny, on 5 June 1954 in Congregational Church, Wonersh, Surrey, England, after a certificate was issued. Ernest James Penny
     Ernest James Penny was born on 1 September 1905 in Summer Road, Farncombe, Surrey, England.1,2 He was the son of James Penny and Bertha Kirby. He was baptised on 18 November 1905 in St John the Evangelist, Farncombe, Surrey, England, Ernest was baptised with his siblings Edith and Nellie. His father was listed as a labourer.3,2 In the census of 2 April 1911 in 3 Summer Road, Farncombe, Godalming, Surrey, England, he was listed as the son of James Penny.4 He married Mabel Ivy Newman on 1 August 1927 in St Nicolas, Guildford, Surrey, England, after the banns had been read. The ceremony was witnessed by William Salter and Leonard Newman. Ernest was a labourer like his father James, and gave his address as 3 Simmer Road in Farncombe. Mabel's father was not listed just deceased. She lived at 5 Keens Buildings, The Mount in Guildford.5 On 29 September 1939 in the National Register Ernest James Penny was listed as living at 15 Tudor Circle, Farncombe, Surrey, England, with his parents.6 He married Emily Rose Turmaine, daughter of Thomas Mitchell and Emily Raggett, in 1943 in Surrey, England.7 He was a driver in the Royal Corps of Signals and later he worked for 46 years for the Godalming Corporation. Twenty of these were working outside and remaining twenty six in the Borough Hall. Jim cycled every day to work whatever the weather. His wife Emily died on 20 April 1983 in Bramley, Surrey, England, aged 85.8 Ernest died on 12 March 1996 in Worthing, Sussex, England, aged 90 following an accident at home lighting a gas cooker, Jim had spent his last days in a home in Worthing.9

     Edith Annie Clark was born on 12 January 1911 in Hartlepool, Durham, England.1 Edith married Edwin Lamb, son of Nicholas Lamb and Matilda Sorenson, in 1935 in Hartlepool, Durham, England.2,3 On 29 September 1939 in the National Register Edith was listed as living at 4 Union Street, Hartlepool, Durham, England, with her husband Edwin. Edwin was a general labourer.4 Her husband Edwin died on 16 November 1977 in Cleveland, Durham, England, aged 68.2,5 Edith died in 1998 in Hartlepool, Durham, England.6 Edith was buried in Stranton Grange Cemetery, Stranton, West Hartlepool, Durham, England.2
