     Norman Macdonald married Avril Greathead, daughter of Wilfred Greathead and Elizabeth Violet Moorhouse, in 1961 in Wharfedale, Yorkshire, England, They had three children two girls and one boy, who was the youngest. One of the girls was called Elizabeth.2,1 Norman died before 2003.1

     Orlando Huitson was born on 10 December 1858 in Ingleton, Teesdale, Durham, England.1,2 He was the son of William Huitson and Elizabeth Greathead. In the census of 7 April 1861 in Ingleton, Teesdale, Durham, England, he was listed as the son of William Huitson Orlando was a scholar.3 He married Agnes Burns Brown, daughter of John Brown, on 22 March 1884 in The Register Office, Houghton le Spring, Durham, England, The ceremony was witnessed by W Huitson and George E Stokoe. Orlando gave his age as 25 and occupation as a joiner living in Lyons, Hetton le Hole. Agnes was aged 24 and gave an address of Four Lane Ends, Hetton le Hole.1,2,4 Orlando deserted his family while in the village of Hetton Lyons, outside Hetton le Hole where they lived in a house owned by the coal company. He allegedly robbed the their children's piggy banks to fund his departure. Agnes had to get out of the house virtually overnight and hence returned to her home territory of Newcastle.2 Orlando sailed on SS Gascon from Southampton on 20 March 1897. He was listed as a joiner aged 38 and single and had elected to depart from E London.5 Orlando was trooper number 10 in Sir Lowys pass District Mounted Troops while in the Boar War in 1901.6 He died on 1 June 1906 in South Africa aged 47 or so the family story states. It is believed he died in the Boer War.1,2
