Robert Newton Greathead was born on 21 July 1866 in McConnellsburg, Fulton County, Pennsylvania, USA.1,2,3 He was the son of John Wellesley Greathead and Almira Virginia Dellinger. In the census of 1 June 1870 in Fulton County, Pennsylvania, USA, he was listed as the son of John Wellesley Greathead.4 In the census of 10 June 1880 in McConnellsburg, Fulton County, Pennsylvania, USA, he was listed as the son of John Wellesley Greathead Robert was a clerk in a store, presumably with his father.5 From April, 1858, until 1868, the business was continued under the firm name of T. & J. W. Greathead, when the senior member retired, and John W. continued the business alone until January 1, 1884, when he associated with his son, R. Newton, with him in the business, the style of the firm being called J. W. Greathead & Son. In 1862 the firm then in business lost nearly everything by reason of the rebels, who invaded the borough and pillaged the store. This, however, did not discourage them, for they continued business notwithstanding constant menace of recurring invasions. The year 1881 completed the first half-century of business conducted at this stand, during which time it only suffered an interruption of about five weeks, when the store-building was being remodeled. Two stools made of pine - that were made and used by the founder of the business, Mr. Agnew - are still retained by the present proprietors as relics.6 He married Mary R Robinson, daughter of John A Robinson and Annie S McNulty, about 1889.2 Robert was listed as the head of the family of on the census of 1 June 1900 in Staunton City, Virginia, USA, Robert worked for an oil company.7 Robert was listed as the head of the family on the census of 20 April 1910 in Virginia, USA, Robert was a stationery salesman, he was also listed as the partner of Robert N Strange in Norfolk, Virginia.8 Robert was listed as the head of the family on the census of 5 January 1920 in 34th Street, King, Seattle, Washington, USA, Robert was a salesman for a paper Company.9 He married Mary McNulty.10 Robert was listed as the head of the family of on the census of 2 April 1930 in Norfolk, Virginia, USA, Robert was a commercial salesman for Hills Paper Compnay.11 His wife Mary died on 19 March 1938 in Richmond, Virginia, USA, aged 69.12 Robert was listed as the head of the family of on the census of 1 April 1940 in 34th Street, Norfolk, Virginia, USA, Robert was living with his sister, Emily and daughter Virginia.13 Robert died on 25 January 1944 in Richmond, Virginia, USA, aged 77.12,10 Robert was buried on 27 January 1944 in Hollywood Cemetery, 412 South Cherry Street, Richmond, Virginia, USA, Section 23 Lot 139.1,12

Burial will follow in Oak-wood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family desires memorials be made to the First United Methodist Church or the Heart Fund. Visiting will be Thursday at Stevens where the family will receive friends from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.

Richard was listed as head of household in the census of 2 April 1871 in 5 Thompsons Yard, Silver Street, Bishop Auckland, Durham, England, Richard was a painter living with his wife and three children. Little Frederick was only 7 months old. The family also had one living in domestic servant.2 His wife Sarah died on 1873 in Auckland, Durham, England.3 He married Sarah Greathead, daughter of John Greathead and Mary Bland, in 1875 in Auckland, Durham, England.1 Richard was listed as the head of the family on the census of 3 April 1881 in Moons Inn, 1 Low Tender Street, Bishop Auckland, Durham, England, Richard was a painter and licensed victualler living with his wife and children. Also one servant and a visitor.4 His wife Sarah died on 1885 in Bishop Auckland, Durham, England.5 Richard was listed as the head of the family on the census of 5 April 1891 in 15 Lower Tenters Street, Bishop Auckland, Durham, England, Richard was a painter living with his son Edward who was also a painter and one servant and her small son.6 Richard was listed as head of household in the census of 31 March 1901 in 15 Lower Tenters Street, Bishop Auckland, Durham, England, Richard was a house painter living with his son, daughter in law and their son, his grandson.7 Richard died in 1906 in Bishop Auckland, Durham, England.8
