Emma Louise Greathead was born on 11 January 1980 in Worcester, Worcestershire, England.3 She was the daughter of Timothy Paul Greathead and Sarah J Brookes. She died on 23 October 1998 in Malvern, Worcestershire, England, aged 18 in a car crash. An article appeared in Birmingham Evening Mail (England), on 25 November 1998 page 25. It stated:
An inquest into a Worcestershire road smash in which four people died has been adjourned pending the outcome of a prosecution. County Coroner Mr Victor Round revealed that three of the victims were travelling in one car.
They were the driver Sidney John Smith, a 19-year-old unemployed man of Roberts End, Hanley Swan, front seat passenger Emma Louise Greathead, aged 18 of Madresfield Road, Malvern, who was a trainee nurse, and trainee hairdresser Katie Louise Brown, also 18, of Meadow Road Malvern. The other person who died was the driver of another vehicle, Mrs Irene Ranford, a 64-year old chef of Park Close, Malvern Link. The crash happened on the A449 Worcester to Malvern Road at Bastonford shortly before midnight on 23 October. Dr Geoffrey Smith said that all four had died from multiple injuries. Adjourning the inquest, Mr Round said Martin James Bradshaw, aged 19, had appeared before Worcestershire magistrates on Friday charged with causing death by dangerous driving. Henry Greathead was born on 3 April 1884 in Yardley, Solihull, Warwickshire, England.2,3,4 He was the son of William Abel Greathead and Helen Taylor. He was baptised on 7 August 1887 in St Edburgha, Yardley, Warwickshire, England, with his sister Harriet. The family lived in Yardley and their father worked as a basket maker.5 In the census of 5 April 1891 in Marston's Old Farm, Church Road, Yardley, Warwickshire, England, he was listed as the son of William Abel Greathead.6 In the census of 31 March 1901 in 69 Newton Road, Sparkhill, Yardley, Warwickshire, England, he was listed as the son of William Abel Greathead Henry was a Milkulaw.7 He married Lily Walker, daughter of George Henry Walker, on 3 July 1909 in St Agatha, Sparkbrook, Birmingham, Warwickshire, England, after the banns had been read. The ceremony was witnessed by George Henry Walker and Annie Loton. Henry was a dairyman. Both Henry and Lily gave their address as Main Street 1bk 78.8 Henry was listed as head of household in the census of 2 April 1911 in 1 Back 78 Main Street, Sparkbrook, Aston, Warwickshire, England, Henry was a Carman on the railway living with his wife who was a tin plate worker. They had a boarder called Walter Fellows aged 31 a polisher in the cycle tube works from Birmingham.9 Henry was listed as head of household in the census of 19 June 1921 in 36 Reddings Lane, Smethwick, Worcestershire, England, Henry was a railway carman working for Great Western Railway at Small Heath Station living with his wife and four of his children and a boarder Stanley Rowe Barrow.10 On 29 September 1939 in the National Register Henry was listed as living at 425 Shirley Road, Birmingham, Warwickshire, England, with his wife Lily. And their children George, Douglas and Doreen. Henry was a railway carter.3 His wife Lily died on 1960 in Birmingham, Warwickshire, England.11 Henry died in 1964 in Birmingham, Warwickshire, England.12 Henry was buried in May 1964 in Yardley Cemetery, Yardley Road, Birmingham, Warwickshire, England.13
