He was a builder with father Frank then during 1930's depression worked part time on a sea-wall at Ramsgate, a suburb of Sydney then toward the end of the depression (1933) he joined the department of fisheries and game as an Inspector until his retirement due to illness in 1952/3. He served in WWl in the 1st Light Horse was in the 2nd wave on Gallipote, then went to England and was transferred to the xxx and served in France until peace was declared.¹ William died on 5 February 1961 in Concord Rehabilitation Hospital, Sydney, New South Wales, Australia, aged 67.^1,3 William was buried on 12 March 1961 in Woronora, Wall of Remembrance, Sutherland, Sydney, New South Wales, Australia.¹
