     Charles Broadbent was born about 1819 in Halifax, Yorkshire, England. He married Martha Harrison on 1 June 1851 in St Peter, Bradford, Yorkshire, England, after the banns had been read. The ceremony was witnessed by William Broadbent and James Harrison. Charles was a farmer ike his father William Broadbent. martha's father James Harrison was also a farmer.1 His wife Martha died on 1881 in Hunslet, Yorkshire, England.2 Charles was listed as the head of the family on the census of 3 April 1881 in Templethorp, Thorp Stapleton, Yorkshire, England, Charles was a retired farmer living with his four daughters and one domestic servant Annie Todd.3 Charles was listed as head of household in the census of 2 April 1911 in Wetherby, Yorkshire, England, Charles was a retired farmer living with his four daughters and one servant.4 Charles died on 26 April 1912 in Wharfedale Mount, Wetherby, Yorkshire, England.5,6 His estate was probated on 5 July 1912 in Wakefield to his four daughters, Helen, Annie, Thomazine and Marrianne all spinsters. His effects were valued at £846 12s 3d.6

In the census of 3 April 1881 in Templethorp, Thorp Stapleton, Yorkshire, England, she was listed as the daughter of Charles Broadbent.2 In the census of 2 April 1911 in Wetherby, Yorkshire, England, she was listed as the daughter of Charles Broadbent.3 She along with her sisters witnessed the probate of the estate of Charles Broadbent in Wakefield to his four daughters, Helen, Annie, Thomazine and Marrianne all spinsters. His effects were valued at £846 12s 3d.4 In the census of 19 June 1921 in Spofforth Hill, Wetherby, Yorkshire, England, she was listed as the sister of Marianne Broadbent.5 Helen died in 1934 in Knaresborough, Yorkshire, England.6
