Hector was a marine engineer and Sarah was a cook. Hector's parents were Hector Annan Adams and Mary Elizabeth Robson. Sarah's parents were Robert Haughton and Eda Bennett.1

Thomas Lawrence was born about 1800 in Demerara, British Guiana.1 He was the son of Thomas Lawrence and Oriana Thomas. Thomas attended Exeter College matriculating on 2 July 1816 aged 16. He received a BA in 1821, and MA in 1833 and was called to the bar at law in 1827 in Lincoln's Inn. He was addressed as Rev Thomas Lawrence.1 Thomas died on 31 May 1881 in Brentford, London, England.2,1
