     John Cuthbert Featherstonhaugh Barlow was born on 7 April 1921 in Yatawatte Estate, Ceylon.1,2 He was the son of John Miles Staverley Barlow and Margaret Pyper. He married Jacqueline Ann Barnes on 4 March 1950 in St Augustine's, Bexhill on Sea, Sussex, England.3,2 His wife Jacqueline died on 1961 in Lambeth, London, England.4 He married Georgina E Leigh in 1962 in Chatham, Kent, England.5 John died in June 2001 in Tunbridge Wells, Kent, England, aged 80.6

Rollo Alexander Barlow

     Rollo Alexander Barlow was born about 1923 in Ceylon.1,2 He was the son of John Miles Staverley Barlow and Margaret Pyper. Rollo died on 1 January 1946 in Labuan, Malaysia, he was a Captain in 73 Anti-Tank Regiment of the Royal Artillery, 196 Battallion No 210687 and is remembered with honour on the Labuan War Cemetery.1

     Jacqueline Ann Barnes was born in Ceylon her parents were Jack and Maidie Barnes. Jack was a vet specialising in horses and may also have been involved with rubber planting.1 She married John Cuthbert Featherstonhaugh Barlow, son of John Miles Staverley Barlow and Margaret Pyper, on 4 March 1950 in St Augustine's, Bexhill on Sea, Sussex, England.2,1 Jacqueline died in 1961 in Lambeth, London, England.3

     William K Barnes was born about 1854 his parents were M L Barnes and B B Miller.2 He married Frances Sarah Greathead, daughter of William Edward Greathead and Mary Ann Davis, on 8 February 1898 in McGregor, Iowa, USA, The Alexandria Citizen of Thursday 9 February 1899 reported: Mr. William K. Barnes, cashier of the Douglas County Bank and Miss Frances Greathead, formerly principal of the Alexandria high school, were married yesterday morning at the home of the bride at McGregor, Iowa. Their many friends will look for their early return to Alexandria and wish them all the joy possible.3,2 And the Alexandria Post News reported on Thursday 9 February 1899 that Mr. W. K. Barnes left on Monday for McGregor, Iowa, where yesterday he was married, his bride being Miss Frances Greathead, former principal of the Alexandria high school. Mr. and Mrs. Barnes will visit New Orleans and other southern cities before returning to Alexandria, when they will occupy the N. W. Hicks cottage.4 And on Thursday 1 March 1899 the Alexandria Post News reported that Mr. and Mrs. W. K. Barnes returned Monday from their wedding journey. They found the Mardi Gras at New Orleans frozen up and had to come back north to find warm weather. They are now at the Letson but will be housekeeping in the N. W. Hicks cottage next week.5 His wife Frances died on 21 November 1899 in USA aged 32.6,7

     Hannah Hardy was born about 1801 in Kirby Moorside, Yorkshire, England.2 She married Paul Greathead Weighill, son of Christopher Weighill and Alice Greathead, on 3 January 1827 in St Crux, York, Yorkshire, England.1 Her husband Paul died on before 1851.2 Hannah was listed as head of household in the census of 30 March 1851 at Bishopgate Street, York, Yorkshire, England, Hannah a widow was living with her daughter Sarah and working as a dressmaker.3 Hannah died in 1856 in York, Yorkshire, England.4

     Friedrich August Koster was born about 1842.1 He married Elizabetha Dohrmann on 21 October 1876 in St Dunstan and All Saints, Stepney, London, England, after the banns had been read on 1, 8 and 15 October. They both gave their address as 48 Wellington Street on the banns and marriage rgister. The ceremony was witnessed by Sieghard Calmon and Mary Ann Stevens who signed with her mark. Friedrich was a ships carpenter like his father John.2,3

     Edward Henry Catchpole was born in 1863 in Ipswich, Suffolk, England.1,2 He married Gertrude Edith Jubilee Hearn, daughter of Henry Hearn and Mary Ann Banthorpe, in 1904 in Brighton, Sussex, England.3,1 Edward was listed as head of household in the census of 2 April 1911 in 146 Foxhall Road, Ipswich, Suffolk, England, Edward was living with Gertrude and their two daughters in their six roomed home. He is described as an Ex Cape Mounted Rifleman and a pensioner.4 Edward died on 25 March 1920 in Ipswich, Suffolk, England.5,1
