Edna Ethel Roberts was born on 5 January 1905 in Georgetown, British Guiana.1 She married Carl A Greathead, son of Thomas Henry Greathead and Alice Louisa Thalia Gainfort, in Georgetown, British Guiana.1 Her husband Carl died on 1926 in Georgetown, British Guiana, Carl was working in the jungle, he was a travelling postman and caught a fever (malaria). Edna was told of his death by someone who worked with him, she was pregnant with her daughter Audrey. She later married him.2,3,1 She married Charles Julien Duncan Smith in Georgetown, British Guiana, they went on to have 7 children, 3 boys and 4 girls.1 Edna died in July 1956 in British Guiana aged 51.1
