     Edith Maria Mackenzie was born on 24 June 1848 in St Neots, Huntingdonshire, England.1,2 She was the daughter of John Douglas Mackenzie and Hannah Merriman.1 She married Rev George Harvey Swinney on 24 August 1882 in Isandhlwana, Zululand.1 Her husband George died on February 1887 in Badawi, East Africa.1 Edith died on 31 May 1888 aged 39 at sea on board SS Grantulty on the way home to England. She was buried at sea.1

     Harry Ward Mackenzie was born on 10 December 1850.1 He was the son of John Douglas Mackenzie and Hannah Merriman.1 He was baptised on 23 January 1851 in Saint Peter, St Albans, Hertfordshire, England.1 Henry was award BA in 1874 having been educated at Keeble College, Oxford.1 In 1889 Henry became Head Master of Lancing College in Sussex and afterwards aat Durham.1 He married Maude Elizabeth Merriman, daughter of Henry Gordon Merriman and Jane Augusta Edmonds, on 23 April 1889 in Holy Trinity, Winchester, Hampshire, England.1,2 His wife Maude died on 1940 in Oxford, Oxfordshire, England.3 Harry died in 1941 in Oxford, Oxfordshire, England.4

Bernard was a layperson in the Church of England.4 Bernard was listed as the head of the family on the census of 5 April 1891 in Northalls Road, Louth, Lincolnshire, England, Bernard was listed as a layreader in the Church. He was living with his wife and one servant.5 Bernard died in 1899 in Ripon, Yorkshire, England.6,1
