The ceremony was witnessed by Henry Pickering and Mary Jones. Both Thomas and Mary gave their addresses as Short Street.      Thomas Pickering was born about 1861 in Middlesbrough, Yorkshire, England.1 He was the son of David Pickering and Jane ...1 In the census of 3 April 1881 in 42 Balekow Street, Middlesbrough, Yorkshire, England, he was listed as the son of David Pickering Tom was ana ssistant cab driver.2 He married Mary Elizabeth Greathead, daughter of Anthony Greathead, on 12 February 1882 in St John the Evangelist, Middlesbrough, Yorkshire, England, after the banns had been read.      Francis Strugnell was born about 1822 in Weymouth, Dorset, England.1,2 He was the son of Thomas Strugnell and Sarah ...3,2 He was baptised on 12 May 1822 in Wyke Regis, Dorset, England.4 In the census of 30 March 1851 at Wellington Street, Middlesbrough, Yorkshire, England, he was listed as the son of Thomas Strugnell Francis was a shoe maker.5 In the census of 2 April 1871 he was listed as the boarder of Reuben a joiner and his wife Annie Wison. Francis was listed as an extra man in the Custom House.6 He married Mary Greathead, daughter of John Hobson, on 13 September 1877 in St John the Evangelist, Middlesbrough, Yorkshire, England, after the banns had been read. Francis was a Custom House Officer. They both gave their address as Short Street.
