William James Johnson Tunley was born in 1888 in Hammersmith, London, England.1,2 He was the son of Joseph Francis Tunley and Emily Johnson.1 In the census of 5 April 1891 in 17 Everstone Road, Hammersmith, London, England, he was listed as the son of Joseph Francis Tunley.3 He married Lucy Ann Smith in 1909 in Lewisham, London, England.4 William was listed as head of household in the census of 2 April 1911 in 12 Dalmain Road, Forest Hill, Lewisham, London, England, William was a handy man living with his wife and son in their one roomed home.5 His wife Lucy died on 1923 in Lewisham, London, England.6 He married Jessie Fox, daughter of Henry Johnson, in 1927 in Wandsworth, London, England.7,8 William took little 'Bill' with him to live to Jessie and her children. It is believed that little Alice and Lucy went into care. It is also believe that William may be spent some time in prison when he refused to pay maintenace for the little girls.8 There is a lovely picture of Eileen and her Dad before her wedding to Roy.8 William died in 1967 in Westminster, London, England.9
