     Jonathan Whitaker was born about 1781 in Howarth, Yorkshire, England.1 He married Betty ...1 Jonathan was listed as head of household in the census of 30 March 1851 at Uppertown, Howarth, Yorkshire, England, Jonathan was a farmer of 27 acres, living with his wife and son Joseph a coach driver. Their grandsons Joseph age 18 a cart driver, Benjamin 16 farm labourer, Jonathan 14 also a farm labourer, Edwin 8 and John 4 and grandaughter Hannah 8 were staying with them.2 Jonathan died on 15 March 1862 in Keighley, Yorkshire, England.3,4

     Alfred Francis was born about 1872 in Sidmouth, Devon, England.1,2 In the census of 5 April 1891 in Aldershot Park, Aldershot, Hampshire, England, he was listed as a domestic servant and a footman.3 He married Katherine Alice Baker, daughter of Thomas Baker and Elizabeth Williams, on 8 August 1897 in Parish Church, Hackney, London, England, after a licence had been issued. Alfred was a butler at Woburn Abbey. They both stated they lived in 94 Well Street. The ceremony was witnessed by Frederick Thomas and Annie Eliza Baker.1,4 In the census of 31 March 1901 in 94 Well Street, Hackney, London, England, he was listed as the brother in law of John Edward Huff Alfred was working as a butler.5 Alfred was listed as head of household in the census of 2 April 1911 in Glawrhyd Lodge, Pontardawe, Glamorganshire, Wales, Alfred was a butler living with his wife and children in their six roomed home. Alfred and Katherine had lost one of their four children before 1911. The name of this child could well have been Philip.6,1 Alfred died on 30 December 1932 in Dartford, Kent, England.1,7,8

Alfred was a butler at Woburn Abbey. They both stated they lived in 94 Well Street.
