     Mary Ann Baker was born about 1802.1 She married John Butcher, son of William Butcher and Sarah Gowing, on 11 March 1828 in St Michael, Framlingham, Suffolk, England, the ceremony was witnessed by Charles Reeve and Mary Ann Thrower.1 Mary died on 29 September 1829 in Framlingham, Suffolk, England, age 27.1

     James Luff was born about 1853. He married Mary Ann Mitchell, daughter of John Mitchell and Emma Turrell, on 9 February 1878 in St Mary and All Saints, Dunsfold, Surrey, England, after the banns had been read. The ceremony was witnessed by Ellen Kemp and W Kemp James was a labourer like his father Henry Luff. Mary Ann's father John Mitchell was also a labourer.1,2 James died on 28 October 1925 in The Cedars, Vanzell Road, Eastbourne, Sussex, England.3 His estate was probated on 15 January 1926 in London to his widow Mary Ann Luff and Alfred Luff a civil servant. His effects were valued at £1,785 4s1d.3

Kate's birth was registered in the workhouse by J M Hardie and her mother listed as Rose Greathead a screw wormer with no father mentioned. However young Kate was also registered as Emily Kate Fletcher in the following Quarter in the Aston Registration district. Her father in this instance is James Fletcher a wine worker journeyman.1,2,3 She was the daughter of James Fletcher and Rosa Greathead.2 She married Joseph Walker, son of George William Walker and Bridget Smith, on 26 December 1936 in St Joseph's Church, India Road, Derby, Derbyshire, England, by licence and was witnessed by Patrick and Gwendoline A Frawley. Joseph was Corporal 799094 2nd battalion Sherwood Forresters and Kate a lawn mower assembler. Both gave their address as Mandy Kerr, Brackens Lane, Alveston. Kate signs her name as Kate Greathead Smith. Smith was the surname of James Fletcher's mother.2,4,5 Joseph and Kate with their daughter Josephine sailed from London leaving on 12 April 1952 sailing to Freemantle in Australia onboard SS Otranto.5,6 Emily died on 6 May 1996 in Coolbellup, Western Australia, Australia, aged 83.5

     Alfred Thomas Francis was born on 14 December 1900 in Tingrith, Bedfordshire, England, his father was a domestic butler.1,2 He was the son of Alfred Francis and Katherine Alice Baker.1 In the census of 31 March 1901 in 94 Well Street, Hackney, London, England, he was listed as the nephew of John Edward Huff.3 In the census of 2 April 1911 in Glawrhyd Lodge, Pontardawe, Glamorganshire, Wales, he was listed as the son of Alfred Francis.4,1 He married Winifred Alice Robinson, daughter of David Millar Robinson and Jane Elizabeth Edmondson, on 19 December 1946 in Register Office, Dartford, Kent, England, after a licence had been issued. Alfred was a branch Manager for a brush company and they both gave their address as 63 Brent Close, Dartford.
