In the census of 2 April 1911 in Staith House, West Hartlepool, Durham, England, he was listed as the son of Charles Newbury.2 Henry died on 31 October 1965 in The General Hospital, Hartlepool, Durham, England, his usual address was 1 Victoria Street.3,4 The will of Henry was proved on 31 December 1965 in Durham to Tobias Henry Tilly and Charles Selby Tilly solictors. His effects were valued at £1710.4

     Robert Snowdon was born about 1847 in Castle Eden, Durham, England.2 He was the son of Robert Snowdon and Elizabeth Elliott.2 In the census of 30 March 1851 at Thornley Branch End, Easington, Durham, England, he was listed as the son of Robert Snowdon.3 In the census of 7 April 1861 in Branch End, Castle Eden, Durham, England, he was listed as the son of Robert Snowdon Robert was a plate later living with his parents and siblings. Alsohis step brother Thomas T Campell a 21 year old plate layer.4 He married Mary Jane Enderwick, daughter of Henry Elliott and Margaret ..., in 1871 in Hartlepool, Durham, England.2,5 In the census of 2 April 1871 he was listed as the boarder of Jane Holborn and her daughter. He was listed as a locomotive engineman on the railways. Another boarder was Thomas Wilkinson a locomotive stoker on the railways.6 Robert was listed as the head of the family on the census of 3 April 1881 in Flass Junction, Esh, Durham, England, Robert was listed as a signalman. Susannah Curchin née Verrill
     Susannah Verrill was born on 20 August 1878 in Staithes, Yorkshire, England.1,2,3 She was the daughter of Thomas Verrill and Sarah Ann Crispin. In the census of 5 April 1891 in 93 Nelson Street, Normanby, Yorkshire, England, she was listed as the daughter of Thomas Verrill Susannah was a scholar.4,5,6 She married Henry Wallace Curchin, son of John Curchin and Elizabeth Lamb, on 30 June 1900 in Parish Church of South Bank, York, Yorkshire, England, by banns Henry was aged 24 and Susannah aged 21. The ceremony was by performed by Richard Roberts and witnessed by William Edgar Bryan and Sarah Ann Verrill. Henry lived at 93 Nelson Street, South Bank, York.7 In the census of 31 March 1901 in 100 Granville Road, Linthorpe, Middlesbrough, Yorkshire, England, she was listed as the wife of Henry Wallace Curchin.8 In the census of 2 April 1911 in 39 Lothian Road, Middlesbrough, Yorkshire, England, she was listed as the wife of Henry Wallace Curchin.9 It is believed that Susannah may have attended the launching of HMS Hood.1,10

Henry and his family left Liverpool on 31 October 1917 aboard SS St Louis arriving in New York on 10 November 1917 where they stayed for 10 days before travelling onto Australia arriving one month before their last child John's birth in January 1918 to be CEO for the Commonwealth Shipbuilding in Australia to reorganise the Australian Merchant Navy for five years. Their passage was paid for by the Commonwealth Government of Australia. The Master of the ship was J H Hartley and there were 223 passengers.

Henry returned home in 1925 settling in Middlesex, where he set up company Watson and Curchin. Henry also won many cups for shooting at Bisley.11,12,13

Henry and Susannah lived at 97 Old Park Ridings, Winchmore Hill, N2 telephone number LABurnum 1946 during the time that their sons Ivan and John were at the Merchants Taylor School. They stayed there from 1927 until Henry's death.14,15 Her husband Henry died on 28 September 1934 in Prince of Wales General Hospital, Tottenham, London, England, aged 58 from Prostate cancer.1,11,16,17 Susannah stayed on after her husband's death at 97 Old Park Ridings moving then in 1944 to Flat 4 Fortescue, Gentleman's Row, Enfield, Middlesex telephone number ENField 1521 which later changed to 01-363-1521 until her death.15 On 29 September 1939 in the National Register she was listed as living at The Cottage, Hitchin, Hertfordshire, England, with her son Ivan.18 Ivan's body was buried with other family members in the Curchin grave at Edmonton Cemetery.1 Susannah died in May 1974 in Enfield, Middlesex, England, aged 95.11,1,19 Her body was cremated and the ashes were scattered over the family grave in Edmonton Cemetery, Grave 1680 in zone M, Edmonton, London, England.1

Ambrose was a cafe proprietor and general shop keeper living with his wife and daughter with a lady Margaret Ord listed as a companion help.3 Elizabeth died on 16 October 1978 in Seaton Carew, Durham, England, aged 88.1

She was baptised on 15 September 1914. On 29 September 1939 in the National Register Elizabeth Agnes Storer was listed as living at 31 The Front, Seaton Carew, Durham, England, with her parents Agnes was a manageress of a cafe and shop buyer.3 She married William Thomas Dwerryhouse, son of Thomas Dwerryhouse and Sarah Victoria Tickle, on 15 January 1941 in Holy Trinity, Seaton Carew, Durham, England, after the banns had been read. The ceremony was witnessed by Ambrose Storer, A Storer, Edna Dwerryhouse and S Dwerryhouse - 8 NB Copy of Marriage certificate and records misread give Agnes and some witnesses surnames as Stern.4 She died on 2 February 1984 in 35 The Front, Seaton Carew, Durham, England, aged 69 of cardiac failure, hypertension and acute bronchitis.5 Elizabeth was buried in Holy Trinity, Seaton Carew, Durham, England, William and Agnes were buried under the same gravestone, together with their babies Julie and Jill.6

     George Good was born in 1829.1,2 He was the son of George Good. He married Elizabeth Hayes Corner, daughter of John Corner and Mary Hayes, on 3 May 1852 in Holy Trinity, Seaton Carew, Durham, England, Married by licence Elizabeth Hayes Corner by John Lawson witnessed by John Corner, Thomas Juston and Margaret Carr-8 1852 MI Holy Trinity Seaton Carew aged 44
George was a horse keeper.3 He was working as a licensed victualler and inn keeper from 1853 to 1960 at the Seven Stars Inn which has been rebuilt and renamed Marine Hotel around 1920. George held many other jobs including a porter merchant in 1852 and a ship steward from 1864 to 1882. George was listed as the head of the family on the census of 7 April 1861 in Seaton Carew, Durham, England, George was the Manager of the Seven Stars Inn.4 George died on 6 October 1873 in Seaton Carew, Durham, England.5 George was buried on 9 October 1873 in Holy Trinity, Seaton Carew, Durham, England, in the same grave as his son John, his wife later joined him.6

     George Dakers was born on 19 February 1867 in Houghton le Spring, Durham, England.1,2 He was the son of James Dakers and Margaret Loudon. In the census of 5 April 1891 in Lyons House, Hetton le Hole, Durham, England, he was listed as the son of James Dakers George was a colier workman.3 He married Elizabeth Jane Good, daughter of George Good and Elizabeth Hayes Corner, on 10 April 1893 in Holy Trinity, Seaton Carew, Durham, England, Married by banns Elizabeth aged 26 George aged 28 by Francis W Mortimer witnessed by Ellen M Corner, Elizabeth C Gilchrist, John Lowdon and John Corner.4 George was listed as head of household in the census of 31 March 1901 in Hetton le Hole, Durham, England, George was a manager of the coal mine.5 When George retired from being Manager of Hetton Colliery he bought a shop in Chichester South Shields. This shop passed on to his daughters Mary and Margaret.2

     Donald Lamb was born on 15 September 1915 in Hartlepool, Durham, England.4,5 He was the son of William Spurr Lamb and Elizabeth Usher. Donald was a larger-than-life character who was a commercial representative for a number of ironmongerycompanies. He lived in Hartlepool and had a shop there in York Road, run by his wife, Belle. it is believed it was called "Belle & Co". Latterly, they lived at Dromonby Grange, in Kirby-in-Cleveland until he died.6 He married Margaret I Mathieson in 1942 in West Hartlepool, Durham, England, I believe Margaret was also called Belle.6,7 Donald died in May 1989 in Cleveland, Yorkshire, England, aged 73.8
