     Claude William Henry Gardner was born on 3 December 1923 in Birmingham, Warwickshire, England.1,2,3 He was the son of William Huz Gardner and Frances Mary Arrowsmith.1 He married Erna Peterherr in 1951.1 In 1965 Claude was in the Army in Hong Kong, his son Gerry was born out there.1 He died on 26 March 1996 in Flat 46, 47 Belgrave Middleway, Edgebaston, Warwickshire, England, aged 72 from myocardial infection and ischaemic heart disease. He was an insulin diabetic.1,4

     Henry Robert Gardner was born in 1853 in Pimlico, London, England.1,3 He was the son of Henry Gardner.2 He married Rhoda Richards, daughter of William Richards, on 14 June 1880 in St George Hanover Square, London, England, after a licence was issued. The ceremony was witnessed by Henry Fisher Jefferson and Mary Ann Hickinbottom. Henry was a resident at the St James Hotel, Islington and he gave his occupation as a servant.1,4 In the census of 3 April 1881 in 21 St Leonards Terrace, Chelsea, London, England, he was listed as living as husband and wife boarding with Mary A Holland a lodging house keeper. Robert is listed as a butler.5 He died on 11 December 1889 in 31 Strutwick Sreet, Paddington, London, England, from a brain haemorrhage. An inquest was held into his death age 35. He had previously worked for Lord Afred Fitzroy of Whittlebury.1,6

     Rhoda Richards was born in 1854 in Akeley, Buckinghamshire, England.1,2 She was the daughter of William Richards.1 She married Henry Robert Gardner, son of Henry Gardner, on 14 June 1880 in St George Hanover Square, London, England, after a licence was issued. Rhoda was listed as married although it is thought her husband had died earlier and working as a domestic housekeeper. Her son William was also living with her.6 She died on 20 May 1894 in Akeley, Buckinghamshire, England, from pulmonary phisfrisis exhaustion. her sister in law Emma Richards registered the death.1,7

     Joseph Sergot was born in Poland.1 Joseph had been made to fight for the Germans in the war under threat of execution for his family. He crossed sides in Italy and came to England and never went back to Poland in fear of life from Poles who objected to his German connection.1 He married Edna F Gardner, daughter of William Huz Gardner and Frances Mary Arrowsmith.1 His wife Edna died on October 2007.1 He died in 2008 after suffering from dementia.1
