     John Clarkson was born in 1872 in East Witton, Yorkshire, England.1,2 He was the son of Raper Clarkson and Mary Reynolds. In the census of 3 April 1881 in East Witton, Yorkshire, England, he was listed as the son of Raper Clarkson John was a scholar.3 He married Eleanor Mawer, daughter of William Mawer and Jane Greathead, in 1900 in Leyburn, Yorkshire, England, Eleanor and John seem to have had a double wedding with Elizabeth (Eleanor's sister) and Robert (John's brother).1,4 His wife Eleanor died on 25 July 1945 in Darlington, Durham, England, aged 67.1,5 He died on 8 September 1955 in Wensleydale, Yorkshire, England.1,6 He was buried in St John's Churchyard, East Witton, Yorkshire, England.1

     Thomas Coates Thompson was born about 1883.1 He married Mary Mawer, daughter of William Mawer and Jane Greathead, in 1909 in Leyburn, Yorkshire, England, Thomas and Mary had four children James Edwin, Caterine Jane, Evelyn and Phyllis Mary.2,3 He died on 16 May 1952 in Harrogate Hospital, Harrogate, Yorkshire, England, Thomas had farmer for many years at Fearby.1 He was buried on 20 May 1952 in St Paul's Church, Healey, Yorkshire, England.1
