     Ronald Edward Turmaine was born on 13 September 1921.1 He was the son of Edward William Turmaine and Doris Kate Byford.1 He married Olive Smart, daughter of ... Smart and ... Wheeler, in 1951.1 He died on 10 March 1963 aged 41.2

     Violet Jessie E Turmaine was born on 3 February 1910 in Thanet, Kent, England.1,2 She was the daughter of Frederick William Turmaine and Ellen Elizabeth Bligh.1 She died in March 2000 aged 90.1

     Frederick Albert Turmaine was born on 13 June 1911 in Thanet, Kent, England, Frederick was the twin of Irene.1,2 He was the son of Frederick William Turmaine and Ellen Elizabeth Bligh.1 He married Elfrida Gladys Gibson, daughter of ... Gibson and ... Fortune, in 1932 in Elham, Kent, England.1 His wife Elfrida died on 1979.3 He died in January 1994 in Canterbury, Kent, England, aged 82.1

Eileen Joan Turmaine néé Norris
     Eileen Joan Norris was born on 8 January 1920 in 63 Manor Road, Dover, Kent, England.2,1 She was the daughter of Frederick Willie Norris and Florence K Pickering. Eileen was an apprentice hairdresser in 1934 with Marquick Hair Salon in Buckland Avenue, Dover for whom she continued to work until 1940. She then spent a short while working as a shop assistant in World Stores, Bigin Street, Dover. She served in the military between 1941 and 1944 in N.A.A.F.I. in Dover. She trained at the Old Park Barracks at the time of the "Baedecker" raid on Canterbury. She served at South Front Barracks and became the manageress at Lydden Spout in 1944 and received citation for duties carried out under intense enemy bombardment after D Day until the enemy guns were over run. She later became a self employed hairdresser between 1950 and 1963 in Maxton, Dover. She became a partner with her husband in 1963 at Church Gates Bakery, Ash, near Canterbury.2 She married Jack Leslie Charles Turmaine, son of Ernest Edward Turmaine and Ethel Eliza Stroud, on 8 August 1942 in St Martins, Elms Vale, Dover, Kent, England, Eileen's father gave permission for Eileen to marry Jack if he made Sergeant. Jack married Eileen in his No 1 Uniform (Royal Artillary) complete with white lanyards and three gold sergeant's stripes on his arm.2,3 On the occassion of their 50th wedding anniversary the family discovered that Jack and Eileen's special song was "Don't sit under the apple tree with anyone else but me."2 Her husband Jack died on 26 June 1996 in Kent and Canterbury Hospital, Canterbury, Kent, England, aged 75.2,4 She died on 10 August 1999 in Bossington House Nursing Home, Adisham, Kent, England, aged 79 from disseminated carinomatosis and carcinoma endometriium.2,1
