     Hermon Joseph Greathead was born on 18 February 1909 in Chorlton, Lancashire, England.1,2,3,4 He was the son of George Greathead and Helen Hulmes.1 In the census of 2 April 1911 in 157 Henrietta St, Old Trafford, Barton upon Irwell, Lancashire, England, George, Helen and their son Herman were listed as visitors of John and Gertrude Pirbeck, living with them in their five roomed home. George was an assistant superintendant and Ellen was a maternity nurse.5 He was also known by the name of Joseph.6 He married Helena Collett Coppock, daughter of John Henry Coppock and Elizabeth Moore, on 18 April 1938 in Sacred Heart Church, Levenshulme Road, Gorton, Lancashire, England, they married after a certificate was issued and the ceremony was witnessed by A C Taylor, F A Hurtagh and H Moran. They were Roman Catholics. Joseph was a clothing salesman and gave his address as 35 Dunstan Street, Blackley. Lena was a shorthand typist and gave her address as 35 Hexham Road, Garton. My guess is it was a speedy marriage before they emigrated.7,8 On 29 September 1939 in the National Register Hermon was listed as living at 26 Upton Drive, Altrincham, Cheshire, England, with his wife Helena. Hermon was a tailoring salesman, his wife was a solicitors shorthand typist.9 He and Lena Greathead emigrated to Australia.6 Hermon died on 20 February 1968 in Dandelong, New South Wales, Australia, aged 59 he had been a PMG Technicians assistant.10,11

     William Henry Tunley was born about 1858 in Tipton, Staffordshire, England.2 He was the son of William Tunley and Michel Bryant.2 In the census of 7 April 1861 in 93 Witton Lane, West Bromwich, Staffordshire, England, he was listed as the son of William Tunley William was a scholar.3 In the census of 2 April 1871 in 30 Cook Street, Wednesbury, Staffordshire, England, he was listed as the son of William Tunley William was a coal miner.4 In the census of 3 April 1881 in Sheffield Road, Killamarsh, Derbyshire, England, he was listed as the son of William Tunley William was a coal miner.5 He married Ann Maria Box on 28 January 1886 in St George's, Handsworth, Sheffield, Yorkshire, England.2 Moved to Sheffield where he was a miner, like his father.2 He died on 20 November 1906 in Handsworth, Sheffield, Yorkshire, England, William was killed as a result of a roof fall in the pit. The actual date of the accident uncertain but believed to be about one week prior to his death. His grandson Norman Tunley apparently said that William went to the Klondike Gold Rush and returned with about £20,000, some of which he subsequently lost playing cards. The remains of this money enabled his wife Ann to bring up the remaining children after his death. It is also the reason that there was never a deck of playing cards in the Richard/Mabel household.2

     Samuel Hamlyn Moyle was born in 1842 in Wall, Cornwall, England, he was registered with no first name.2 He was the son of Samuel Grose Moyle and Susan H Hamlyn.3 In the census of 30 March 1851 at Chacewater, Cornwall, England, he was listed as the son of Samuel Grose Moyle.4 In the census of 7 April 1861 in Kenwyn, Cornwall, England, he was listed as the son of Samuel Grose Moyle Samuel was an assistant at the brewery.5 Samuel was listed as head of household in the census of 2 April 1871 in Rose Villa, Buckfastleigh, Devon, England, Samuel is the Manager of a wool factory living with his mother.6 He married Mary Ann H Godden in 1874 in Croydon, Surrey, England.7 Samuel was listed as the head of the family on the census of 5 April 1891 in Gwenmap, Cornwall, England, Samuel was living with his wife Minnie and three servants, living on his own means.8 Samuel was listed as head of household in the census of 31 March 1901 in 86 St John, Paddington, London, England, Samuel was a retired marine merchant living with his wife, Minnie, two daughters and one domestic servant.9 He was stated as a Gentleman on his daughter Catherine's marriage certificate in 1903.1 His wife Mary died on 1908 in Kensington, London, England.10 Samuel was listed as head of household in the census of 2 April 1911 in 43 Pembridge Villas, Notting Hill, London, England, Samuel was living with his daughter Lillian and two domestic servants.11 Samuel died on 15 May 1928 in 2 Palace Houses, Bayswater, London, England.12,3,13 His estate was probated on 20 July 1928 in London Care of Westminster Bank Ltd 14 Sloane Square to Catherine Marguerite Greathead (wife of Thomas Greathead), Annie Elizabeth Moyle (wife of John Godden Moyle), Frederick Stone amd Herbert Cecil a Brocklehirst engineer. His effects were valued at £20,578 12s 6d but resworn as £20,849 2s 6d.13

His mother in law, brother in law John Maughan and niece Wilhelmina Hinds aged 16 a domestic servant, were also in the household in their three roomed home.      George William Rayner was born on 24 February 1899 in West Hartlepool, Durham, England.1,2,3 He was the son of John Samuel Rayner and Minnie Maughan.1 In the census of 31 March 1901 in 62 Mainsforth Terrace, West Hartlepool, Durham, England, he was listed as the son of John Samuel Rayner.4 In the census of 2 April 1911 in 1 Garibaldi Street, West Hartlepool, Durham, England, he was listed as the son of John Samuel Rayner he was at school.5 He married Rosalinda Coull on 16 May 1921 in St James Church, West Hartlepool, Durham, England, after the banns had been read. The ceremony was witnessed by Victoria Rayner and Thomas Greathead. George was a ship wright and he gave his address as 1 Gariballdi Street in West Hartlepool, Rosalinda gave her address as 9 Seamer Street in West Hartlepool.6,7 His wife Rosalinda died on 1938 in Hartlepool, Durham, England.8 George died in 1970 in Hartlepool, Durham, England.9
