     Catherine Jane Trudgen was born in 1861 in Newstead, Victoria, Australia.² She was the daughter of Richard Trudgen and Catherine Pascoe.^2,3 She married Robert J Greathead, son of Robert Greathead and Sarah Ann Bright, in 1879 in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, Catherine was Robert's first wife and it is believed there were two children from this marriage but I have only found one - Ada Jane.^1,2,3,4 She died in 1880 in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, It looks very much as if Catherine died while giving birth to Ada Jane or shortly after.^2,5

     John Henry Bright Greathead was born in 1891 in Glebe, New South Wales, Australia.^1,2,3 He was the son of Robert J Greathead and Ruth Darwin Rowley.¹ He married Mary Flood Ryan, daughter of James Joseph Ryan and Katherine ..., in 1914 in Bellingen, New South Wales, Australia.^2,4 His wife Mary died on 1940 in Waverley, New South Wales, Australia.⁵ He married Mary Woods Berkholz in 1948 in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia.⁶ He died in 1970 in Broken Hill, New South Wales, Australia.⁷

George was listed as a public servant and Ida having home duties. They appeared on the 1936 listing at the same house with the same details.⁵ He died in 1951 in Chatswood, New South Wales, Australia.⁶

He enlisted into 2nd Battalion, 6th Reinforcement, regimental number 2242 Australian unit on 26 May 1915 as Private 2242.

He was described a being 18 years 6 months old. He was five feet 5¾ inches. His chest measurement wa 32-34 inches. His complexion was described as medium complexion, with grey eyes and black hair

The unit embarked from Sydney, New South Wales on board HMAT Karoola on 16 June 1915. He was wounded several times, always return in to his unit who returned to Australia on 22 February 1917.

Ashbury was awarded the Star, The British War Medal and the Victory Medal.^4,2 He married Olive Mary Brougham, daughter of William Brougham and Annie ..., in 1920 in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia.^1,2,5 Ashbury and Olive appeared on the Australian electoral rolls for 1930 and 1936 at Louray, Church Street, Hunters Hill, Martin, New South Wales. Ashbury was a tailor and Olive listed as home duties. By 1936 the list stated Louray was 15 Church Street.⁶ He died on 20 April 1967 in Yarralla Hospital, Concord, New South Wales, Australia, of war causes.⁷

Ashbury was a tailor and Olive listed as home duties. By 1936 the list stated Louray was 15 Church Street.⁵ Her husband Ashbury died on 20 April 1967 in Yarralla Hospital, Concord, New South Wales, Australia, of war causes.⁶ Olive requested her husbands Gallipoli medallion on 8 July 1968 following her husbands death. She was living at 15 Church Street, Hunters Hill, New South Wales.⁷ She died on 15 June 1973 in St Leonards, New South Wales, Australia, Olive is described as late of Hunters Hill.^8,9

She was described as a cashier.⁴ Ruth moved to 53 Austin Street, Lane Cove, North Sydney, New South Wales by 1936 with her parents.⁴ She died on 13 February 1998 in Australia aged 95 Ruth is described as late of Lane Cove.^1,2,5,6

     Albert Cyril Greathead was born on 7 July 1905 in Drummoyne, New South Wales, Australia.^2,3,4 He was the son of Robert J Greathead and Ruth Darwin Rowley.¹ He married Myra M Dyer in 1929 in Drummoyne, New South Wales, Australia.^1,5 Albert and Myra appeared in the Australian electoral rolls in 1930 as living in 34 Seville Street, Lane Cove, North Sydney, New South Wales with Alberts parents and sister. Albert was described as a clerk and Myra as having home duties.⁶ Albert and Myra had moved to 53 Austin Street, Lane Cove, North Sydney, New South Wales by 1936 with Alberts parents and sister.⁶ Albert enlisted on 4 January 1941 in Sydney giving his wife Myra as his next of kin. He gave his date of birth as 7 July 1912. His Royal Australian Air Force service number was 403240. He was discharged as a leading aircraftman on 23 December 1941. His last posting before discharge was the embarkation depot at Bradfield Park.^7,8 His wife Myra died on 10 March 1988 in Australia Myra is described as late of Coogee.^1,9 He died on 23 June 1993 in Coogee, New South Wales, Australia, aged 87 Albert is described as late of Coogee.^1,3

     Charlotte Greathead was born about 1762 in Westminster, London, England.² She was the daughter of John Greathead and Mary Rainsden.¹ She was baptized on 8 March 1762 in St James, Westminster, London, England.² She married Joseph Wilkin on 5 March 1785 in St Hilda's, South Shields, Durham, England, James was a cabinet maker and signed the register.^3,4

     Joseph Wilkin was baptized in 1768 in Longbenton, Northumberland, England, at the same time as his sister Mary.¹ He married Charlotte Greathead, daughter of John Greathead and Mary Rainsden, on 5 March 1785 in St Hilda's, South Shields, Durham, England, James was a cabinet maker and signed the register.^1,2

     Ethel Greathead was born on 28 May 1881 in 33 Radcliffe Street, Oldham, Lancashire, England.^2,3 She was the daughter of Charles Greathead and Emma Ward.¹ Her birth was registered at Register Office on 25 June 1881 by her father who gave his occupation as an iron moulder. He signed his name with an X.³ In the census of 5 April 1891 in 182 Shaw Road, Oldham, Lancashire, England, she was listed as the daughter of Charles Schofield.⁴ She married Evan Thomas Roberts, son of Edwin Roberts, on 16 February 1901 in Christ Church, Chadderton, Oldham, Lancashire, England, The ceremony was witnessed by Samuel Taylor and Betsy Taylor. Evan lived at 12 Oak Street and was a turner. Ethel lived at 28 Devon Street.^5,3,6 In the census of 31 March 1901 she was listed as the wife of Evan Thomas Roberts Ethel was a reeler in the mill.⁷ I have a wonderful picture of Ethel an her children Charles, Ivy, Walter and baby Hilda.³ Her husband Evan died on 16 February 1951 in Boundary Park Hospital, Oldham, Lancashire, England.⁸ She died on 1 July 1953 in 25 Studley Street, Oldham, Lancashire, England, aged 72.^3,9 Her death was registered on 3 July 1953 by her daughter Hilda Roberts who stated her mother was the widow of Evan Thomas Roberts a lathe turner engineer in the Register Office. The cause of her death was Carcinoma of the stomach.

     Evan Thomas Roberts was born about 1876 in Holywell, Flintshire, Scotland.¹ He was the son of Edwin Roberts.² He married Ethel Greathead, daughter of Charles Greathead and Emma Ward, on 16 February 1901 in Christ Church, Chadderton, Oldham, Lancashire, England, The ceremony was witnessed by Samuel Taylor and Betsy Taylor. Evan lived at 12 Oak Street and was a turner. Ethel lived at 28 Devon Street.^3,4,5 Evan was listed as head of household in the census of 31 March 1901 at 82 Devon Road, Oldham, Lancashire, England, Evan was an iron turner.⁶ He died on 16 February 1951 in Boundary Park Hospital, Oldham, Lancashire, England.⁷ His death was registered on 19 February 1951 by his son Charles Thomas who gave his address as 18 Flash Street, Newton Heath and his father's occupation as an iron turner in the Register Office. The cause of his death was Myocardial failure due to arteriosclerosis which was certified by John L Watson the coroner after a post mortem without inquest.
