Mary Theresa Verrill

     Mary Theresa Verrill was born on 5 February 1907 in Stockton on Tees, Durham, England, to the immediate family she was called Baw.1 She was the daughter of Francis Henry Verrill and Mary Elizabeth Foggitt. In the census of 2 April 1911 in 17 Hartington Road, Stockton on Tees, Durham, England, she was listed as the daughter of Francis Henry Verrill.2 She married Lancelot William Roe Haskins on 18 July 1928 in Stockton on Tees, Durham, England.3 On 29 September 1939 in the National Register Mary was listed as living at Higher Wade West Hill, Wadebridge, Cornwall, England with her husband Lancelot. Lancelot was a medical practitioner living with his wife and children.4 Her husband Lancelot died on 1969 in Bodmin, Cornwall, England.5 Mary died in 1975 in Bodmin, Cornwall, England.6,7

Laurence Verrill

     Laurence Verrill was born on 6 June 1915 in Stockton on Tees, Durham, England.1 He was the son of Francis Henry Verrill and Mary Elizabeth Foggitt. On 29 September 1939 in the National Register she was listed as living at 48 Osborne Road, Stockton on Tees, Durham, England with his sister Annie Laurence was a draughtsmanin a bridge and construction compnay.2 He married Ethel Pickering on 18 October 1940 in Durham, England.3 Laurence died on 24 March 1987 in York, Yorkshire, England, aged 71.4

     Ethel Pickering was born on 21 April 1916.1 She married Laurence Verrill, son of Francis Henry Verrill and Mary Elizabeth Foggitt, on 18 October 1940 in Durham, England.2 Her husband Laurence died on 24 March 1987 in York, Yorkshire, England, aged 71.3 Ethel died in October 1995 in York, Yorkshire, England, aged 79.4

     Gerard Francis Verrill was born on 8 September 1941 in Bodmin, Cornwall, England.1 He was the son of Laurence Verrill and Ethel Pickering. He married Jennifer Anne Willmott on 30 October 1965 in Hitchin, Hertfordshire, England.2 Gerard died in 2013.3

Mary Cecelia Verrill1

     Mary Cecelia Verrill was born on 8 May 1918 in Stockton on Tees, Durham, England.2 She was the daughter of Francis Henry Verrill and Mary Elizabeth Foggitt. Mary was given the nickname of Solly by her father. She was known as Celia to her friends and Solly to her family. Apparently as a baby she was bald and looked like his friend Solomon.1 Mary died on 13 March 2008 aged 89 Mary did not marry. Her nephew Nick Haskins became her attorney in her latter years as her health failed.1

     Isaac Mason married Ann Verrill, daughter of John Verrill and Margaret Trufitt, on 23 December 1770 in Hinderwell, Yorkshire, England, Banns 2 , 9 and 16 Dec 1770 witnessed by John and Thomas Verrill.1

     Nelson Verrill was baptised on 22 May 1809 in Hinderwell, Yorkshire, England.1 He was the son of Richard Verrill and Ann Smales. He married Martha Snowden on 12 May 1828 in Hinderwell, Yorkshire, England, after banns were read.2 He was a fisherman.

Isaac Verrill

     Isaac Verrill was born on 8 July 1811. He was the son of Richard Verrill and Ann Smales. He was baptised on 11 July 1811 in Hinderwell, Yorkshire, England.1 He married Susannah Verrill, daughter of Robert Verrill and Sarah Unthank, on 2 October 1836 in Hinderwell, Yorkshire, England, The ceremony was witnessed by Francis Mead and John Laverick. They were married by Robert Morehead after banns were read. Both Isaac and Sarah signed with X.2,3 He was a fisherman. Isaac was listed as head of household in the census of 30 March 1851 at Hinderwell, Yorkshire, England, Isaac was a fisherman living with his wife and children.4 Isaac was listed as the head of the family on the census of 7 April 1861 in Hinderwell, Yorkshire, England, Isaac was a fisherman living with his wife and children.5 Isaac was listed as the head of the family on the census of 3 April 1881 in Hinderwell, Yorkshire, England, Isaac was a fisherman living with his wife and grandson who was a scholar.6 Isaac was listed as the head of the family on the census of 5 April 1891 in Seaton Garth, Hinderwell, Yorkshire, England, Isaac was living with his wife and listed as a retired fisherman.7 Isaac died on 4 February 1895 in Whitby, Yorkshire, England, aged 83.8,9 Administration papers were issued with a will on 28 July 1926 in Yorkshire to Isaac Verrill Batty, his grandson, son of his daughter Susannah and a bank manager. His estate was valued at £319 10/-. I have no idea why it was so long after he died.9

     Susannah Verrill was baptised on 30 January 1815 in Hinderwell, Yorkshire, England.1,2 She was the daughter of Robert Verrill and Sarah Unthank. She married Isaac Verrill, son of Richard Verrill and Ann Smales, on 2 October 1836 in Hinderwell, Yorkshire, England, The ceremony was witnessed by Francis Mead and John Laverick. They were married by Robert Morehead after banns were read. Both Isaac and Sarah signed with X.3,2 In the census of 30 March 1851 at Hinderwell, Yorkshire, England, she was listed as the wife of Isaac Verrill.4 In the census of 7 April 1861 in Hinderwell, Yorkshire, England, she was listed as the wife of Isaac Verrill.5 In the census of 3 April 1881 in Hinderwell, Yorkshire, England, she was listed as the wife of Isaac Verrill.6 In the census of 5 April 1891 in Seaton Garth, Hinderwell, Yorkshire, England, she was listed as the wife of Isaac Verrill.7 Susannah died in 1897.8 Susannah was buried on 22 November 1897.8

Burton Verrill

     Burton Verrill was born on 23 September 1823. He was the son of Richard Verrill and Ann Smales. He was baptised on 25 September 1823 in Hinderwell, Yorkshire, England.1 He was a fisherman. He married Mary Ann Unthank, daughter of John Unthank and Margaret Verrill, on 24 March 1846 in Hinderwell, Yorkshire, England, after a licence was issued.1 Burton died on 15 August 1884 aged 60. Burton was buried in August 1884.
