Leslie Greathead was born on 26 April 1914 in Ecclesall Bierlow, Yorkshire, England.1,2 He was the son of Frederick Greathead and Lily Calvert. In the census of 19 June 1921 in 37 Chester Street, Sheffield, Yorkshire, England, he was listed as the son of Frederick Greathead.3 He married Marjorie Naylor in 1938 in Sheffield, Yorkshire, England.4 On 29 September 1939 in the National Register Leslie was listed as living at 27 Thistle Street, Sheffield, Yorkshire, England, with his wife Marjorie. Leslie was a Motor driver of EPS Vehicles.5 Leslie died in 1942 in City General Hospital, Sheffield, Yorkshire, England, he was a bus driver.6,7 Leslie was buried on 24 November 1942 in Burngreave Cemetery, Sheffield, Yorkshire, England, in consecrated ground Grave number 57, Section B4.7

Rev Thomas Petitjean was born about 1892 in Etherley, Durham, England, His parents were Gustav and Sarah Petitjean.2,3 In the census of 31 March 1901 in Ramshaw, Evenwood, Durham, England, he was listed as the son of Gustav aged 55 and Sarah aged 45 Petitjean. Their children Emily W aged 25, Albert aged 18, Annie aged 16, Alice E aged 13, John aged 10, Thomas aged 9, Ethel aged 7,Florence aged 5 and Eve aged 1 completed the family. Gustav was a Colliery overman, working below ground and had been born in France. Only Albert was working and he was described as a colliery weighman working above ground.4 In the census of 2 April 1911 in 6 Dene Bridge Row, Chilton, Ferryhill, Durham, England, he was listed as the son of Gustav and Sarah Petitjean living with his parents and siblings Sarah Ann aged 23, Florrie aged 15 and Eva aged 11 in an eight roomed home. They state that they had ten children all of whom were still living. He was working as a colliery weighman working above ground. His father was still working below ground and is described as a coal miner back overman. Gustav states he was born in Belgium in this census.5 He married Annie Greathead, daughter of James Greathead and Jane Ann Dowson, in 1927 in Auckland, Durham, England, Thomas and Annie had three children.6 Thomas died in 1957 in Spilsby, Lincolnshire, England, Thomas was a Church of England vicar.7

Arthur Greathead was born on 9 June 1904 in Auckland, Durham, England.2,3,4 He was the son of James Greathead and Jane Ann Dowson. In the census of 2 April 1911 in Windlestone Cottage, Rushyford, Ferryhill, Durham, England, he was listed as the son of James Greathead.5 In the census of 19 June 1921 in 33 Eden Terrace, Chilton, Durham, England, he was listed as the son of James Greathead James was a general labourer working above ground for Henry Stobart & Co Partners at Clifton Colliery but was out of work. He was living with his wife and two of his chilldren and a boarder Henry Roy Chittenden3.6 On 29 September 1939 in the National Register Arthur Greathead was listed as living at 28 Chilton Buildings Durham Road, Sedgefield, Durham, England, with his mother Arthur was a coal lorry attendant.7 He did not marry and lived in Chilton.1 He died on 21 December 1964 in Friargate Hospital, Northallerton aged 60 he previously lived in Tang Hall Farm, Thirlby, Yorkshire, England.8,9 Arthur did not leave a will. Administration papers were issued on 22 March 1965 to Edith Hayward his sister who was the widow of George Hayward. His effects were valued at £397.9

George was a farmer living with his wife and children.7 Her husband George died on before 1965.8 Edith's brother Arthur died in December 1964 She received administration on 22 March 1965. She was listed as a widow.9 Edith died in 1987 in Northallerton, Yorkshire, England.10
