     Frank Emerson was born on 23 September 1925 in Quincy, Massachusetts, USA.1 He was the son of John Cuthbert Emerson and Susannah Turley.1 He married Helen Havanis on 27 December 1946 They eloped with my Frank's brother Robert (Harry) and Norma after Christmas and got stuck in the snow on the way to Reno Nevada .1 Frank died on 23 May 2002 in Grass Valley, California, USA, aged 76.1

     Helen Havanis married Frank Emerson, son of John Cuthbert Emerson and Susannah Turley, on 27 December 1946 They eloped with my Frank's brother Robert (Harry) and Norma after Christmas and got stuck in the snow on the way to Reno Nevada .1

Jonathan Emerson1

     Jonathan Emerson was born on 26 February 1812 in Westgate, Durham, England.1 He was the son of Jonathan C Emerson and Sarah Hopper.1 He was baptised on 15 March 1812 in Stanhope, Durham, England.1 He married Jane Davison on 28 October 1832 in Dalton-le-Dale, Durham, England.1 Jonathan was listed as the head of the family on the census of 7 June 1841 in Railway Cottages, Easington, Durham, England, Jonathan was described as a railway labourer living with his wife and two children.2 Jonathan was listed as head of household in the census of 30 March 1851 at Northgate Street, Hartlepool, Durham, England, Jonathan was a Miller living with his wife and children. His mother was also with them.3 Jonathan was listed as the head of the family on the census of 7 April 1861 in Shotton Mill, Shotton, Easington, Durham, England, Jonathan was a master miller living with his wife and children.4 Jonathan was listed as head of household in the census of 2 April 1871 in Old Tile Sheds, Castle Eden, Durham, England, Jonathan was a farmer of 112 aces employing one lad living with his wife and children. His grandson John Carter was with them.5 Jonathan died on 10 June 1880 in Easington, Durham, England, aged 68.1,6 The will of Jonathan was proved on 20 December 1880 in Durham to his sons George Emerson of 14 Victoria Place, Hartlepool and James Emerson of Station Lane, Wingate both joiners. His estate was valued at under £600.6
