Peter Farrer was born on 7 October 1922 in Greenwich, London, England.1 He was the son of James Stuart Farrer and Florence Marie Webber. Possibly because of their fathers own lack of education all three of the Farrer boys were given a "gentleman's" education going firstly to prep school at Highgrove in Liphook. Peter and Christopher both went on to Radley but Snooks was rather more academic and was awarded a scholarship at Eton. All three boys were tall, (Peter at 6ft 2in was the smallest) and athletic with both Peter and Chris rowing in the first 8 at Radley and Snooks being a dry bob(cricketer). Family myth has Snooks as being awarded the top scholarship at Eton as well as being in both the 1st/15 for rugby and First team for cricket.2 Peter served in WW2 and was awarded the MC.2 In 1945 Peter was living in Larklands, Park Road in Epsom. His parents and Grandmother were also there sometime that year.3 In 1947 Peter was living in 55 Wodeland Avenue in Guildford withFrederick J Goodchiild Jessie E Ridley and Elsie F Snelson.3 James, Florence and their sons Peter and Gerald in 1948.      Gerald Francis Farrer was born in 1925 in Lewisham, London, England, and from a very early age was known as Snooks with his family.1,2 He was the son of James Stuart Farrer and Florence Marie Webber. Possibly because of their fathers own lack of education all three of the Farrer boys were given a "gentleman's" education going firstly to prep school at Highgrove in Liphook. Family myth has Snooks as being awarded the top scholarship at Eton as well as being in both the 1st/15 for rugby and First team for cricket.2 After Eton he was commissioned into the Coldstream Guards and although was involved in WW2, due to his age was not as involved as his brother Peter who was awarded an MC. Once he was discharged from the army he read Law as Kings College Cambridge qualifying as a solicitor.2 James, Florence and their son Gerald lived in Hullbrook Farm in 1947.3 James, Florence and their sons Peter and Gerald in 1948. Gerald was a Solicitor. Gerald died from a) Sarcomatosis b) synovioma Right Lesser Trochanter. I understand this to be a soft tissue tumour around the hip. He probably had surgery and the tumour that was removed was biopsied/partially removed but he then developed metastases, hence the sarcomatosis. The death certificate was signed by the local Bramley doctor Dr John Loudon. At the time of his death he was a partner at Withers, which then as now had wealthy and high profile clients including members of the Royal Family.5,6,2 His estate was probated on 27 November 1957 in London to his widow. His effects were valued at £19,117 4s 8d.6 James Stuart Farrer of Hullbrook in Shamley Green and Percy Noel Fuller of Peper Harow Farm House in Godalming transferred the land north east of Chinthurst Lane to the Parish Council of Wonersh for the sum of £1 on 21 May 1959. The land was donated to be in memory of James' son Gerald who died in 1957. The woods were later known as Gerald's Wood.7
