     Montague Percy Wells was born in 1896 in Wimbledon, Surrey, England.1,2 He was the son of Mary Ann Wells. He was the nephew of John Killeen and Jemima Elizabeth Wells in the 1901 census in 16 Lower Downs Road, Wimbledon, Surrey, England.3 He was listed as the nephew of John Killeen and Jemima Elizabeth Wells in the 1911 census in 17 Coombe Road, Kingston upon Thames, Surrey, England.4 Montague enlisted on 10 February 1915 in Woldingham in London into Duke of Cambridge's Own (Middlesex) Regiment 16th Battalion no P.S.1576. He gave his address as 17 Grand Parade, Coombe Lane Norbiton, where his mother lived but gave none for father. He was 5 foot 8 inches tall with a chest measurement of 35 inches , weighed 140 lbs and had a scar on the bridge of his nose.1 Montague went absent without leave for 24 hours on 30 October 1915 and was given 5 days confined to barracks and lost a days' pay.2 Montague was posted to France on 17 November 1915.2 He died on 1 July 1916 in France.5 Montague is remembered on the Thiepval Memorial.5 He is also listed on the Plaque in Chapel in St John's Seminary.6

     Austin Bernard Winchester was born in 1892 in Highgate, London, England.1,2 He was the son of John Winchester and Alice Jenks.1 He was the son of Alice Winchester in the 1901 census in 56 Langdon Park Road, Highgate, London, England.3 He was the son of Alice Winchester in the 1911 census in 23 Milton Avenue, Highgate, London, England. Austin was an invoice clerk for a druggest salesman.4 Austin was a Private in The King's (Liverpool) Regiment no 84966.5,1 He died on 20 September 1917 in Belgium.1 He was buried in New Irish Farm Cemetery, Ypres, Belgium, in Plot: XIV. A. 15.6 Austin is remembered on the plaque in the chapel of St John's Seminary in Wonersh.7 Austin's sister Cecily Marchant and Miss Florence E Jarvis received the war gratuity on 25 October 1918. Cecil received 5s10d and Florence £2 12s 10d. They received further payments on 8 December 1919. Florence received £11 14s 0d and Cecily £1 6s 0d. Who Florence was is unknown at present.8 Charles Percy Winchester, being Austin's oldest brother requested the words 'Have pity on me, For the hand of the Lord has touched me' be engraved on Austin's gravestone. Charles was living at Ellesmere, Grand Drive, Leigh on Sea, Essex at the tiime.9

     John Winchester was born in 1847 in Liverpool, Lancashire, England.2,3 He married Alice Jenks on 19 September 1871 in Ellesmere, Shropshire, England, her father was Edward.1,4,5 He was listed as head of household in the 1881 census in 13 Elm Grove, Birkenhead, Cheshire, England. John was a tailor and draper living with his wife and children, little Cecily was just 6 months old. They also had one servant.6 He was listed as head of household in the 1891 census in 10 Bisham Gardens, St Pancras, London, England. John was a Secretary to a Public Company living with his wife and children, little Phyllis was just 6 weeks old.7 He appeared in the 1901 census in Bois Lane, Chesham Bois, Buckinghamshire, England. John a secretary to a public company and his son Stanley were boarding with Frank and Florence Morten.8 He died on 25 November 1902 in 56 Langdon Park Road, Highgate, London, England.2,9,10 His estate was probated on 29 May 1903 in London to his widow. His effects were valued at £15.10

Arthur was a commercial traveller in wholesale drugs.5 On 29 September 1939 in the National Register Arthur was listed as living at 14 Saint Marks Mansions Tollington Park, Islington, London, England, with his wife Constance.      William Proctor Winchester was born in 1884 in Birkenhead, Cheshire, England.1 He was the son of John Winchester and Alice Jenks.2 He was the son of John Winchester and Alice Winchester in the 1891 census in 10 Bisham Gardens, St Pancras, London, England.3 He was the brother in law of William Stephen Marchant and Cecily Gertrude Marchant in the 1901 census in 9 Southwood Avenue, Highgate, London, England. William was a fine art assistant, presumably working for his brother n law.4 He was the son of Alice Winchester in the 1911 census in 23 Milton Avenue, Highgate, London, England. William was a fine arts salesman.5 William sailed from Southampton on board the ship the Empress of France. He arrived in Montreal on 24 September 1926. He was an Art Dealer and was visiting Scott and Sons, 99 Notre Dame Street in Montreal. He gave his address in UK as with his wife 'Margaret Mary' Winchester at Kent Lodge in Sutton, Surrey.6 William sailed on board the ship Megantic from Liverpool on 23 September 1927 bound for Montreal in Canada. He gave his occupation as a Fine Art Dealer.7 He died on 7 March 1933 in Copt Hill, Burgh Heath, Surrey, England.8,9 His estate was probated on 30 September 1933 Administration papers were issued in London to Harry Wallis a fine art dealer. His effects were valued at £1,655 9s 5d.8

     Charles Percy Winchester was born on 27 June 1875 in Birkenhead, Cheshire, England.1 He was the son of John Winchester and Alice Jenks.2 He was the son of John Winchester and Alice Winchester in the 1881 census in 13 Elm Grove, Birkenhead, Cheshire, England.3 He was the son of John Winchester and Alice Winchester in the 1891 census in 10 Bisham Gardens, St Pancras, London, England. Charles was a clerk to a wholesale druggist.4 He married Mary Cecilia Elliott, daughter of Aloysius James Elliott and Mary J Teresa Syred, in 1897 in Islington, London, England.5 He was listed as head of household in the 1901 census in 104 Milton Park, Hornsey, Middlesex, England. Charles was a chemist clerk living with his wife and young daughter mother in law and a boarder Robert M Elliott.6 He was listed as head of household in the 1911 census in 76 Hertford Road, East Finchley, London, England. Charles was the managing clerk of a manufacturing chemist living with his wife, two children and a servant.7 He received the probate of the estate of Alice Winchester on 14 June 1913.8 Charles Percy Winchester, being Austin's oldest brother requested the words 'Have pity on me, For the hand of the Lord has touched me' be engraved on Austin's gravestone. Charles was living at Ellesmere, Grand Drive, Leigh on Sea, Essex at the tiime.9 On 29 September 1939 in the National Register Charles was listed as living at 23 Springfield Court, Hornchurch, Essex, England, with his wife Mary. Charles was a druggist clerk.10

     Cecily Gertrude Winchester was born in 1880 in Birkenhead, Cheshire, England.1 She was the daughter of John Winchester and Alice Jenks.2 She was the daughter of John Winchester and Alice Winchester in the 1881 census in 13 Elm Grove, Birkenhead, Cheshire, England.3 She was the daughter of John Winchester and Alice Winchester in the 1891 census 10 Bisham Gardens, St Pancras, London, England.4 She married William Stephen Marchant in 1898 in Islington, London, England.5 She was the wife of William Stephen Marchant in the 1901 census in 9 Southwood Avenue, Highgate, London, England. William was a fine art manager living with his wife, young son, a nurse, servant and his brother in law William Proctor Winchester who assisted him in his fine art business.6 Austin's sister Cecily Marchant and Miss Florence E Jarvis received the war gratuity on 25 October 1918. Cecil received 5s10d and Florence £2 12s 10d. They received further payments on 8 December 1919. Florence received £11 14s 0d and Cecily £1 6s 0d. Who Florence was is unknown at present.7 Her husband William died on 20 September 1925 in 53 Hove Park Villas, Steyning, Sussex, England.8,9 She received the probate of the estate of William Stephen Marchant on 2 November 1925. She died in 1955 in Droitwich, Worcestershire, England.10
