The ceremony was witnessed by Edwin Knopp and Mabel Dean. Alfred was a soldier and gave his address as 10 Waterloo Road, Dunstable. Rhoda gave her address as 4 Sylvia Villas, Kingston Road, Leatherhead.6 On 28 April 1916 he was discharged as not fit for war service and gained British War Medal and Victory Medal.5 He died in 1977 in Surrey, England.7

She was the daughter of George Robert Hickman and Helen Ann Hickman in the 1901 census in Dancers Hill, South Mimms, Hertfordshire, England.2 She was the daughter of George Robert Hickman and Margaret Louisa Hickman in the 1911 census in 1 Dyrham Park Cottages, Dancers Hill, Barnet, Hertfordshire, England.3 She married Edwin Bonston on 12 October 1918 in Kingswear, Devon, England.4,5 She died on 4 June 1988 in Little Oldway, Oldway Road, Paignton, Devon, England, at age 94.6,7 Her estate was probated on 14 July 1988 in Bristol her effects were valued at £70,000.7

Her effects were valued at £125,000.4

     Harry Hickman was born in 1871 in Derby, Derbyshire, England.1 He was the son of Jonathan Hickman and Elizabeth Clarke. He was the son of Jonathan Hickman and Elizabeth Hickman in the 1881 census in 66 Rutland Street, Derby, Derbyshire, England.2 He married Rosa Pateman in 1899 in Kensington, London, England.3 He was listed as head of household in the 1901 census in Penmon Stables, Cavendish Road, Walton on Thames, Surrey, England. Harry was a domestic coachman living with his wife.4 He was listed as head of household in the 1911 census in Finnart House Stables Oatlands Drive, Weybridge, Surrey, England. Harry was a domestic chauffeur living with his wife and son. They had two visitors Frederick Hickman a domestic gardener and Edith Godding a domestic cook. Finnart House was once owned by Francis Burdet Money Coutts 5th Baron Latymer. In 1911 it was owned by John Lyle, a Sugar Refiner and part of the family that was famous for Lyles Golden Syrup before becoming Tate and Lyle. In 1937 it became the Finnart House School for Jewish Boys.5,6
